Somewhere in Nicaragua
Alright folks, the time has come to prepare for this year’s Central American Surfing Championships in Panama and WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! This year’s tournament will be held in Playa Venado, Panama on March 21, 22 and 23. It’s a great opportunity for our kids to travel to another country(none have ever been to Panama before) and interact with the best surfers in the region. We’ve arranged some killer hookups to help offset the costs this year – Copa Airlines has offered us 1/2 price airfare and Budget Rental Car is donating the use of a 15 passenger van for the transport. Even so, the estimated costs per surfer is $700. NSR is putting in $700 towards the cause and we are hoping to raise at least $1400 to contribute to the trip. This really is a great opportunity for these kids to gain some valuable perspective and have fun at the same time. Please let us know if you can help. Welcome to another small but sweet report from out here at Maderas, we’re Lucha and Panic doing our thing. It’s waist to chest high on sets, the wind is offshore and the water is getting warmer and clear so we might jump out in the water tomorrow. Check it out.
The locals are always out there no matter about the size. Here is Calibilly Zapata with a cool bottom turn on a nice left.
“El Shaggy” Zopiloton was riding at least more tham 40 waves by himself at Machete pt. It wasn’t that big but he was surfing alone for almost 3 hours. Here he is riding a nice one all the way in to the beach.
A couple of longboarders were out and charging today. Here is this lady going right and having so much fun.
“La Baloy” Chamorro has been working hard and keeps doing it because he wants to keep the championnship. Here he is going big with a nice layback.
And his little brother is working hard too, i think these two guys are going to be in the top of the national ranking this year. Here is “La Gaviota” seconds away of an aerial move.

We’ve got Lucha here with the surf report from Maderas. It’s chest high on sets and the wind is howling offshore, we had around 50’s surfos out there and that’s not a good new. Check it out.
To start things off, there were a bunch of people we didn’t know surfing today so we decided to give them all fictional names to protect them. This is Terry in the tube.
