Did we mention the waves were super fun? Check out this shot and make your own call.
Many of the best surfers in the country got to meet in this event, so we had a nice show. This is Raul from Venezuela with an amazing maneuver in front of the rocks.
La Gaviota Chamorro started the day winning every single heat he was in, and he succesfully made it to the finals. Here he is caught with a cool spray on this little nugget.
The beach was pretty busy and everybody had a blast. Check out this crew of girls enjoying the beautiful day, dancing on the beach and enjoying a good vodka. Do you guys need a bigger bottle?
Cute girls, fun waves, good food and drinks everywhere. What else can we ask for?
I guess the food was really good. Wasn’t it Chelito? Or maybe I have to ask Dunia! Bonna Petit friends.
Did we say cute girls? We have many like this one on the beach and I think they are going to be around the huge party fest tomorrow night at Casa Llanta. Come over and enjoy it!
Dunia ate pretty well so she had enough power to destroy the waves and win the final. Here she is caught bottom turning a nice sized right hander.
It wasn’t easy for me to be in the water with the water housing becasue there was lots of currents and the water was cold. Anyway, I got to snap a couple of cool shots. This is Mojo-jojo Jackson about to throw the lip off the back.
Don’t you believe us when we say everybody was having a good time? Here is this shot to prove it!
La Baloy Chamorro was surfing pretty well through all his heats and he also made it to the finals. Here he is going big with a cool floater shot from the parking lot.
It was nice being in the water but it was super tired. An artistic shot by Lucha Libre!
The longboard heats were pretty tight and everybody though that this guy was going to win but we had a sweet surprise. Corage Hernandez racing down the line on a nice one.
This guy was the surprise of the day, beating Corage in the longboard final heat. Oliver Solis walking straight to the nose of his giant panga.
Placed in the final open heat, Darwin “El Brujo” Jacamo was doing his best to beat the beast but it wasn’t enough. Darwin with a cool little floater.
There is no way to beat this guy, when he is busting 360’s airs all over the place. Rex with his signature move, the move that gave him the first place at this event.
Longboard:1 st Oliver Solis2 nd Jose Hernandez3 rd Eliseo Carrizal4 th Randy Taylor
Open:1 st place Rex Calderon2 nd place Darwin Jacamo3 rd place Luis Chamorro4 th place Augusto Chamorro
It was a great contest and we hope to have better ones in the future. Thanks so much to all the people that make this posibble and we hope that everybody come up to the party tomorrow at Casa Llanta. Buenas noches!!!
RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Wednesday evening’s surf report from French Fries. The waves were better this evening than they were the past few days. It was very clean and started to pulse in the last two hours of daylight.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Hi and welcome to our daily surf report. This is the NSR Family bringing you all the action from the beach straight to your computers. The waves were kind of fun today but the winds were howling offshore and the water was freezing. Check it out!!!
First thing in the morning Carlitos Calientito and Come Pancito took a couple of friends from the United States to get the best surf lesson in town with the best surf school in the whole pacific coast down here in Nicaragua. Here we have a shot of S. Miller riding this one all the way..
Today we finally have some swell in the water so everybody made it out even with the cold water. It’s running about chest to head high on sets and the wind is offshore. There were some jellyfish around but nobody was worried about them because everybody was scoring some fun waves today. Check it out.
