Not exactly what I expected, but with only 4 guys out, I ran quick to grab my gear and try and get in on the action as had a feeing it wasn’t going to last very long.

Decent amount of swell, but the winds were howling offshore and really mean and nasty today.

If you could hear an audio clip of todays wind gusts you would be surprised at how loud it was everywhere with all the high wind gusts and trees moving all around in the jungle.

One man, only leaving 3 left. I knew my gut instinct was right and I was hoping the others would stay long enough so I wouldn’t have to some back down 3 or 4 more times to see if anyone was willing to brave out the gnarly winds.

I mean look at that. Looks picture perfect. But it was a serious chore to not only paddle into these things, but also keep from being wind swept down the beach, that’s how strong the winds were today.

One of of my lone survivors still out there paddling over a pretty good sized sneaker set.

This guy had the one and and done factor before I could even reach the water’s edge. But that’s ok. I give all these guys props for making the paddle out there today.

Cervezas, tostones, diablos, incluso unos tacos de pescado suenan mucho mejor que un montón de viento y arena en tu cara ahora mismo.

High winds, but would you still paddle out????

Amarillo Reef point was looking all kinds of wonky and weird and not too inviting.

Come on buddy, you’re my last guy out there…… you got this!!!!

Aweeeeee – man! Too fast too windy and nobody wants to race a closeout.

Buuuutttt, the look back always shows that you may have been beaten this once, but that glance back over the shoulder is simply saying….. I’ll be back…. I’ll be back you windy beast!

A couple more pretty empty wave shots for you, since I lost all my surfers in no less than about half an hour.

Nice waves, but no takers and it leaves me with empty wave shots….. BOO-HOOOOO!!!! ;(

Well, at least it wasn’t flat!!! I’m going with the positive side!

Not sure if you can see the sand flying through the air in the picture, but I came home and must have dumped about 2.5 pounds of sand out of each of my shoes it was that windswept with sand going everywhere. Still, yet another beautiful day where some people are all bundled up and freezing their arses off! We’ve got to be lucky every single day we’re here! Enjoy it while you can ~

Hello and Happy Monday, we had a few fun windows of waves today. I started out shooting from the beach but decided to jump in the water after seeing a few nice rides. @tonyzphotos reporting.
