Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, March 01, 2017

Hello NSR community and welcome to the first surf report of March! This is Parker logging in with some fun morning shots. Take Humpday in strides and check out our report!

It’s been cool out so we’ve been sleeping with our windows open. Because there is a little swell, some bombs were waking up me up for a perfect glassy morning session.

Did you think John Gilem was going to miss a morning session??? He sat on the left peak patiently waiting for his selection. Seems like it paid off, huh?

I knocked on Eric’s door to see how hungover he was from last night’s BBQ (sandwiches that is). He swam out to join John for social hour in between waves. In case you're a visitor looking for a warm welcome into the line up, talk about food. Preferably Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese bisquits, waffles, or pancakes.

Before Eric ate a delicious breakfast at Pili's kitchen, he found a fun wave. Check out his sequence!

Spending years and years down here will perfect your barrel riding. Start by clicking on the "vacation rentals" tab and see where it goes from there.

Still locked in… #teamWavestorm

Well, March is off to a good start. Fingers crossed, but it should only get better as the season approaches. The southern hemisphere will start sending groundswells soon and those swells will begin grooming our sandbars to perfection.

To give you a little guidance on the "vacation rentals" tab, check out Rancho del Mar. This house is perfect for families and larger groups. Why? Look at the beautiful spacious layout of the house, Maria (the meal plan cook) is a stud, the privacy in the jungle (except for the howler monkeys in the trees), and you're 30 seconds away from one of the best waves here. If you're planning a bachelor party (cough cough Mikey) or coming for a family visit, checking out this house would be a wise decision.

Sets rolled in every 8 to 10 minutes with 4 or 5 waves. Two of the waves were gems- just ask Eric here.

Chris Fink and crew are down for a quick strike mission to surf and the occasional snappa game. So far, both are going pretty successfully.

Good friend Mike came down with him. These guys have been bummed on the flat spell of surf in Malibu so they’re stoked on what NICA is currently offering.. Mike, let’s set up you up with our photog Eric so you can put the GoPro down and get barrel shots!!

It’s been windy for a couple of days and will continue to be for a few more days. However, this morning was sheet glass until 7:30 ish and the harder offshores kicked in around 9:00. During the day, we work or hang out until the evening glass off. 4 hours of good surf in the offseason isn’t too bad…

You’ll definitely see this hombre for the afternoon session. Per John’s request, I would like to clarify last week’s post about his age… I said he was 54 but he is actually 44. Here, he glides into his golden years (and left bombs) with style.

Eric showed off a little nose riding style this mañana also. Now let’s get Jess out there and in front of the camera too!

Ok camas and caballeros, thanks for checking out our surf reports! Even when it’s windy or Surfline says it’s flat, check our report for some fun action. Have a good rest of the week muchachos y nos vemos pronto!!
