PLAYA SANTANA
Hello everyone, this is Baldo with today’s surf report from Santana beach. The waves were kind of funky today, good but messy, and windy of course.
More often than expected some A-frame peaks appeared… here is one peak in-between sets.
And here is one wave of the set… left and right? Not a bad day for sure.
My cousin Chris is visiting from Canada with his friends (the crew on the first picture). This guy is super creative in many ways, he is a great artist and an awesome athlete. You can follow him on his adventures on Instagram as @envy0ne… one day he can be painting a mural in Toronto, the next day he’s shredding on a skateboard, or rock climbing in Indo. Welcome back primo!
Once again, the strong gusts of wind that appears at the wrong time, right before the take-off on a beautiful wave, messes up your whole ride… if you even make the late drop, of course.
The girl on the left was walking by herself listening to music with her headphones, all happy and enjoying Nicaragua, probably thankful for being here and stuff… but then I saw the girl in black coming, all sneaky, on stealth mode behind her, and “BOOO!!”… she scared the hell out of her! Even though in the picture it looks more like “ooh”, the way she jumped looked more like a “AAAHH!!”
This guy probably screamed “AAAHH!!” too, at that precise moment.
This tourist probably would have screamed “Oh $hit!” if he would have seen this surfer coming full speed directly at him.
He should be thankful that he only got a splash on the head instead of a few stitches!

The winds will slow down, the real swells will start appearing on the horizon every week with good waves for everyone… if you haven’t started yet, start planning your next trip soon!
Soon enough you will be practicing your bottom turns like Capullo ( I think that’s him).
And of course, hitting the lip several time on each wave.
First peak soon will be throwing fire through its barrels and intense drops.
And everybody will be having a great time… just like these three guys surfing the same wave: one going left, one going right… and the third going MENTAL!
