I got down to the playa right around noon today. Pulled up to see some rippers out enjoying some fun waves.
As I got closer, I realized it was Koji and Joji the two brother ripping surfers. Here’s Koji on about his 100th wave of the day!
Jonh Springfield with a whole lot of real estate on that right. Don’t worry, he utilized every single inch of that thing!
My other buddy and local Nica ripper, Marcos, looking pretty “caliente” on an otherwise pretty “frío” wave.
Grant was another shredder that timed todays swell and tide perfectly.
I’m not quite sure who this kid is, but he was getting some super fun waves as well!
Here he is again but from a different angle. I love the “double hang drag stall”.
Koji again showing us his perfect form on his backhand.
The kids were frothing out there today!
Speaking of frothing, look at these frothing howler monkeys I found chilling in the trees, enjoying a cold fresh beverage.
Look, it’s a plane, no, it’s a helicopter, no, it’s an original DRONE! A very expensive drone!
Grant giving a little shred-a-thon clinic for some of the local kids.
Today was a GREAT day to get out there and catch some white water that was rolling for a hundred yards or so, which is great for beginners. Yakub Okon (@kubaokon), taking advantage of a beautiful sunny day here in Nica-Land to do just that!
Thanks to NSR for supplying Yakub with the perfect board for todays session! Yewwwww
The PD local crew. Fired up even though the water is downright chilly!
Check out this sick 3 image sequence of Grant, talking off on this frothy looking right.
Booom, going for the big wrap….
Followed by this radical inside section floater. Sick one hermano!!!!
I gotta give the best parting shot to Yoji, for this way pulled back sick shot of him getting slotted on the inside looking back through my secret spot in the jungle. Way to go kiddo!!! Your parents and brother will be so stoked and proud!!!
You know who else is proud….. these two guys! Proud to be able to call this place home. God bless Nicaragua and all of their beautiful people! Dale Pues y Diacachimba ~
RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s mid-day report from Colorados. The waves were clean and fairly consistent. It definitely pulsed at various moments throughout the day. Nothing huge though.
Hey amigos. Welcome to Thursday’s late morning report from Colorados. It was clean this AM, but notably smaller. The sets still had enough size to offer up tubitos.
Hey amigos! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. Wednesday was a let down compared to what was forecasted. It was not 4ft @ 16 sec as projected by Surf-lie haha. The sets were good when they came, but there was one quality set every 20 minutes roughly. It was a waiting..
