The Nicaraguan surf team was holding a local competition this morning. They were the only guys in the water, braving the wind and getting some good rides! Jackson Obando with the wave of the heat here!
Jackson came out of the tube and whipped a big roundhouse turn! These guys are some of the best surfers coming out of this country, Jackson’s surfing has taken him around the globe and will continue to do so!
I didn’t hang around to see the results, but, Colorado local, Oscar Espinoza had placed in the top three from what I saw!
Kevin Cortez, hailing from Playa Gigante had a couple good mini barrels out there! Going right was tricky, the photos don’t do it justice, but that wind was fierce!
The fourth and final surfer out there was Joel Chavez from Playa Astillero. All these guys have great style and wave knowledge! It was fun to watch you muchachos!
One last action shot to finish off the heat recap! Kevin pulled into this one and barely squeezed out at the end!
It was a nice surprise to have those guys paddle out together this morning! Thanks for tuning in with us today! Hopefully this wind mellows down and tomorrow will be more manageable out there! Stay safe and have some fun with it if you are here in the local area amigos! Adios todos!
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. The swell was very big as forecasted, but it didn’t really hit the sandbars appropriately. Still some big drops and adrenaline rushes.
Hey everyone! Welcome to Thursday evening’s surf report from Colorados. It was a bit of a “stand-up contest” this evening, but the power should return tomorrow. Still surfable, but we are suffering from the recency bias haha.
Hey amigos! Josh here for the next few days. Welcome to April 1st’s surf report from Colorados. The surf was on its dying breaths today, but there were still a few good sets and pulses sprinkled throughout the day. The mid-day window had insane sun, so there were very few surfers out.
