PLAYA SANTANA
Welcome to another edition of the one and only Nicaragua Surf Report, the biggest archive of surf photos in Nicaragua… in case you don´t know, we´ve been taking daily photos since March 2005!

Early this morning I went to check out Santana beach and found this structure… no, there is not a surf competition coming, they are just getting ready for Semana Santa (Easter week) and looks like at Santana the celebration is going to be BIG!!
The conditions today were difficult, the waves were head high with overhead on the sets and closing out. There were only two guys in the water and not catching much. Here is one of the few photos I took.
After a while of just waiting for an opportunity to take a good photo, I decided that it was time to go and do something more interesting than sitting there watching empty waves.
So, I decided to go check out one of the new houses NSR will be managing at Rancho Santana. This is Casa Rock, a brand new 3 bedroom house sitting right in front of playa Rosada… here is the Master bedroom overlooking the beach.
Can you picture yourself sitting by the infinity pool with a Flor de Caña drink just waiting for the tide to be perfect to go surfing? Casa Rock will be available starting in April, let us help you have the dreamed vacation with your family or friends!
After watching those waves at playa Rosada I decided to go check out another good left in the area. I went to Popoyo in the late afternoon. It was low tide, very windy and with just a few people in the water, and this guy was killing it!
The right was working good but you had to fight the wind. I saw so many people failing at catching the waves because of the wind pushing them back. This girl managed to get on this little peeler.

The waves were super fun first thing in the morning today. Chest to shoulder high waves with some occasional head high sets were rolling in, winds were lighter than yesterday and the water a bit chilly. Check it out!!!
