The swell is totally gone but the magnet still picks up any pulses. The beachie might be chest/shoulder high but it’s almost head high here.

However, you trade size for shape. Go get a smaller but critical wave south or a big roller up north. Variety, or sazon completa, is the spice of life.

Turn number two. When the interval kicks up (next swell), you’ll see longer walls marching to the beach. As for now, it’s mushy, playful, and peaky.

There aren’t many better feelings than taking the wave all the way to the beach. Except, enjoy that paddle back out…

For a Saturday morning, the crowds were light. A handful of guys were trading off waves while the other handful were hanging off to the side. This is a tricky wave to figure out so it wouldn’t be a horrible idea to hang back and see how the wave works. Or… charge straight in and figure it out!

Some other chargers were playing on the beach too. By all standards, today was a beautiful morning: light offshores, cool water to freshen up, and not a cloud in the sky.

Roger Hoch, the beloved CSO of the EMHEC, snagged a couple. Personally, even though the rights are less consistent, I’m looking for those. However, Roger picked off a handful of faster left shoulders.

Tim Walker made it out for a few as well. He’s an all around cool guy to share a lineup with. Ask him about a couple stories in between sets.

Ok damas and caballeros, SBS and I appreciate you giving us a minute of your Saturday to check out our shots. Stay tuned through a mellow week coming up and stay even more tuned once that swell arrives. Pasa un buen fin de semana primos!!
