Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, April 01, 2009

Check it out - NSR got some big time love from the Wall Street Journal today. The article is all about what to do in the San Juan Del Sur area and mentions the NSR Surf School as the place to go for surf lessons. We're stoked to get a mention in such a prestigious publication with over 1 million daily viewers. The article also calls out a couple of our favorite restaurants like Bambu and El Pozo - home of the infamous NSR Burger.

Collectively, our instructors have over 100 years of surfing experience. We are now located in our new office 50 meters behind the Texaco in SJDS. Please stop by and say "hi" the next time you are in SJDS.

Hi there, we are Roberto “Lucha Libre” Garcia and Jairo “Come Pan” Panic bringing you the Wednesday surf report from out here at Playa Maderas.  Today we made it back to the beach in the morning expecting to score some fun waves and beat the crowd.  It was running about chest to shoulder high with some sporadic head high waves on sets with light offshore winds.  The lineup was not crowded at all and the water was warm.  Check it out!!!

There were a couple of sweet waves coming through at Machete Pt this morning.  Here we have a shot of one of the many ones that rolled all the way in to the beach.  What a shame!!!

A few guys decided to take the big pangas out and take advantage on the smooth waves.  Here we caught a cool shot of “El Charrialudo” just seconds before he paddled out.  It is so nice to have a photo of you getting ready to catch some waves with a girl in the back and front ground.

Let’s get into the surf action.  A couple ladies were commanding the lineup this morning taking waves all over the place.  This is Sarah “Te Sarandearan” La Tuzita with a solid stand up on this little nugget.

We had many lefts and rights to be had.  “El Chulin” Estrella set up in the right spot to catch a few of the better ones.  Check him out getting shacked on this beautiful right.

It was a great day to relax and read a book on the beach meanwhile your friends are surfing.  This is Laura from Costa Rica, enjoying the morning sun session by herself.  Pura Vida!!!

This is Nicanor “El Flor de Cana” from Long Island.  This guy is 56 years old and he has been surfing for 41 years all over the world.  He is super stoked to be catching some sweet waves down here now.

“DJ Dientitos” wanted to be part of the action today so he took his board out.  The waves should be fun tomorrow but the winds are supposed to be onshore in the afternoon so be sure to make it early to the beach.
Peace and love!!!
