This is Eugenia. She’s a really sweet local gal that I had the pleasure of meeting on the beach today right before swimming out. Her infectious smile says it all!
That’s right, so I decided to swim out today and I think that was the best call by far and I think you’ll agree when you see the pics, like this one. Mike here trying to find one more little nugget before he has to jump on a plane to head back to the states. Safe travels amigo and we’ll see you and Megan again real soon!
There were actually a few friends heading out today, sadly. Here’s JJ trying to nab as many barrels as he can before he had to jam and pack in time to catch his flight. Good seeing you and good luck back in school buddy!
The swell was a little bigger than yesterday but the waves were pretty fast and racey today, so you had to paddle quick and find that right place to be.. but when you did, the reward was awesome!
Like this unknown rider dropping in. Right place, right time… (sequence cont’d)
… and getting the cover up!
This is a really cool angle if you find yourself (swimming) on the inside, which can happen when the waves are fast and running down the line like today. Carlito setting up for a nice backside drainer.
We are so lucky to have waves like this as often as we do. Today was especially special with all the conditions coming together to make it so dream-like perfect!
Nice visible sponsor shot and a good turn with spray, today was contestable contest conditions for sure.
Josh Springfield’s IG handle@joshhavepigdog(give him a follow) is so appropriate for this photo and it makes me smile every single time I see him going backside in a barrel… (con’t)
… still going on that foam ball!
Mateo snagged the biggest set bomb of the day. Check out the entire sequence in the next slide. I got so smashed getting said sequence, but it was definitely worth it!
What a wave eh?!?!
This is Valentina Resano. She is an incredibly talented up and coming surfer from here and she has two other sisters whom also happen to surf very well. She’s the oldest of the “Groms Resano” surfing familia and that’s her little sister taking notes from a top the shoulder while she gives a quick lesson on pulling into the tubo!
Kelly Slater has yet to make a left hand version of his wave pool in CA.. but that’s ok. We simply improvise here in Nica.
This is Candelaria Resano, the middle sister and up and coming prodigy surfer like her older sister Valentina. They have the steep drops on lock down. Oh and did I mention you can usually find them out surfing Outer Reef with their Dad, Manny when it gets a lot big(er).
This is exactly what the last photo would look like from the other side looking back. (go ahead and scroll back up and take a peek to see what I am talking about) Look at that style with such confidence!
And here’s Maxi, the younger of the three. Well poised and looking 100% like the gene pull didn’t skip water day. Just think about how little JJ Florence was when you first saw him coming into the surf scene. Yup, she’s about the same size, if not smaller. Little girl power all the way!!!! Hmm.. come to think of it, there are 3 Florences too.. interesting??
Perfect form and bottom turn.. wait for it..
… ShwwwwwackK!!! Executed perfectly. Keep an eye on these little ladies.
So that’s all for today my friends. Another amazing day with incredible waves in the books. Thanks again for stopping by and always checking out what we love to share with you daily. Hope you have a great Saturday night whatever your plans, be safe and we’ll see you back here again mañana for more surfing action!~ buenas noches ~
