Pangas is a fan of big pangas, or as it’s better known, big ol’ long boards. Here’s two fine examples.

Afternoon shimmer!

However if you prefer the shorter board out here, you pretty much have to take off under the lip, like this guy.

But once you’re up and riding, the turns are pretty much guaranteed to be mega fun not matter the size of the shred stick you style on.

I met this guy, Bruce later on. Such a happy guy!!! I see why he was so stoked after his session.

I actually can see why a lot of the people who chose this break this afternoon were pretty stoked!

Chocoyo, always stoked, and also likes to do big turns.

Speaking of nice turns, hows this one??

At first I thought this dude was skimming this wave. He’s actually not, but it looks like it, by his unique style.

Uncle Barry, well, let’s just say he’s a fan of the much bigger waves. Like A LOT BIGGER. Matter of fact, he’s been coming down here for quite some time and he’s got many giant waves under his belt here in Nicaragua. I’m bummed to see you go this weekend my friend. But I definitely look forward to your return in June.

Backwash was here this afternoon once again. Hello Mr. Backwash!

I’m not sure if you can see in this photo (since it’s been downsized quite a bit for web resolution), but we’re making complete eye to eye contact in this frame. Well, at least it seems that way. Either way, I always feel special when I connect with my amigo’s, me being the photographer and them riding super fun waves!

POP QUIZ! Who’s having more fun in this photo??A. The surfer in the backgroundB. The family playing in the surf in the foregroundC. The photographer, since he really likes this shotorD. All of the above

Earlier I mentioned this place being a good wave that’s friendly to the longboard persuasion. This amiga would have to agree, I think.

One of my new friends and 1 of the big group of 9 new amigos from New Jersey staying at Casa Ola, Mike Mrazek… ripping!!

If you seek…

You shall find.

Chocoyo, raise your hands if you’re sure? I’m pretty sure he’s sure!

My personal reason the alley-oop aka “Air Reverse” is one of my favorite airs is because I think a lot of people don’t realize how difficult this air is. You’re pretty much doing this giant air blind, over moving water not really seeing you’re landing section until last minute. Thus my favorite technical air to watch being done in surfing!

Maybe a good barrel…. maybe a really good air section at the end of the barrel???

*On a quick and much needed exposure side note…. (photos and words by Carl Sagerstale)Today marked the third and final day of a great collaborative project to bring playground structure, swing set and volley ball court to a local school in the village of El Asentamiento spearheaded and organized by Better Together Ministries,KidsAroundTheWorld.comand their families. This is a shot of all the volunteers at the dedication ceremony this morning.

The group overcame logistical challenges of transport, customs, permitting, and precious short time to fulfill the goal of delivering and completing build and assembly in record time. Huge help from local mechanic Tyrone across the street whose good vibes, knowledge, shop and tools were indispensable, families in the community, Mayor of Tola José Ángel Mairena, Fernando and Brittany Pacheco, Kimi Tasker and Zac Hyland, and Hayden Bell and more from the expat community. Here are the students patiently making it through the dedication ceremony before getting to enjoy the new facilities.

And finally given the green light to go play mayhem ensued as the kids got to enjoy the new addition to their school. Huge props to Dan and Stephanie, Scott and Lynette and all the volunteers for doing something truly special this week.

Ok my friends.. Here’s my parting shot. A fun new group I met today while doing my rounds as concierge/guest services. Meet Kyle, Steven, Nick, Joe, Sean & Bryce. Cheers mates! See ya’ll out in the lineup! Bienvenido y Saludos ~
RECENT REPORTS

Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. It was another small, but fun day of waves. Looks like the last mellow day for a good eight to nine days. Finley managed to find a couple of tubitos.
