This photo really captures the clarity and nice blue color of the water we had today.

This photo really captures the size it was for most of the waves and clarity and nice blue color of the water we had today.

Katie dropping into a BOMB! jaja… Ok, ya, this isn’t really a bomb, but hey Katie… you ready for the season for pumping waves to start or what???

Katies’s ready, since she’s been logging in a bunch of surf time way up in Northern Nicaragua lately.

You ready for your all time barrel shot this year chica?!?!?

Nica-Shade

Talk about someone who puts in their fair share of ocean time. This kid right here. Maycol Mejia.

Another stand out ripper who logs maybe some of the most consistent time out here when it’s pumping (or not). Josh Springfield.

The younger of the Cortez familia, looks like the surfing is in the blood all the way down the family tree.

They size matters, but who can really see the furthest??? hmmm or better yet, what are they looking at???

Oscar live his surfing life two ways, under the lip and over it. Here he is practicing a new cross-breed of the both. In the barrel, while half way above it. Nice one amigo! You’re futuristic surfing is light years ahead!

For a better example of Oscars real surfing prowess… BOOM!

Shakalaka!!

BOOOOM!!!

There’s no better way to have a Sunday Fun day than a Daddy Daughter Sunday Funday Date in the cool pool (IMHO)!

Sooo….. to get to Guasacate, take that first left at the tienda where you see some piñatas and cold Toñas, then you go down the road about 10 kilometers more and you’ll pass this little restaurant called Yolanda’s with some monkeys. Keep going straight past some pigs and some cows and a possible rodeo, you’ll cross a couple of little empty rivers and then hook a left over an old rickety bridge. Keep going until you see a fork in the road and you hang another left. From there it’s a straight shot right into town, no problem and from there you’ll see it.. The Melting Elephanté. If you get lost just pull over and ask a local.

Ask this local where the best surf spot is and I’m sure he’ll just point to right here.

Because this is where Maycol lives and loves surfing every single day.

(Oh the irony of the photo) Growing up in Gigante, you’re almost guaranteed to be a fisherman, being this is a well known little fishing village and how most people there make their income. It’s either that, or become a surfer. I think Andrew here, prefers the latter.

Nice little bottom turn…

to stylish little check turn….

to an all out crazy man fan on this helpless little 3 foot wave. Bravo sir!

My new amigo from Israel, Yanai Deitsch is visiting here for a month, so I am really exited to link up and get him in some gapers here real soon!!!

Get it while it’s HOT! If you enjoy partaking in the small surf, get on it! Our pumping surf season is here and the waves will be BIG once again very soon. I bet Oscar is frothing with excitement!

How’d you fare on your Sunday Funday? Did you get out there and surf, or did you make your way to a fun farmers market? Either way, I hope it was as enjoyable as it could be on this fine Sunday. Thanks for always stopping by to check out what our days are like here. Nos vemos esta semana ~
