Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, April 10, 2017

Brian Scott

Hola Surfistas and water enthusiasts alike!! Brian here with the Monday surf report. Today we decided to go surf some different spots up north and had the pleasure of taking a little surf adventure by boat with Hunter, Holmes, Mike, Lyle, PJ, Dave and Jay. Enjoy~

Brian Scott

We got there early so we could get on it with the low tide, here’s Dave laying down some nice rail work at this super fun left hand point break with some magical morning light. I wonder if he’s happy with this wave…

Brian Scott

I think the smile says it all!

Brian Scott

I’ve been seeing Jay out surfing for the last few days back at our home break and we seem to always keep linking up nicely when we’re in the water together. Like on this wave here.

Brian Scott

Holmes getting some nice speed on this little inside runner. That’s right, just look, but don’t drop in amigo! Always good to look down the line to see if someone might be coming.

Brian Scott

Holmes’ son Hunter was out enjoying this new wave he’s never surfed. How cool is it to be visiting a tropical warm surf destination, surfing and sharing waves with your son. These moments will last forever in your mind - especially that view!

Brian Scott

Today was especially warm. Hotstickshannahs being the nice guy that he is gives everyone on the shoulder a nice little spray to help them cool off. Good man PPH!

Brian Scott

Ok, speaking of good guy Parker. He asked me while we were out there in the lineup if there was a way I can help him out with a new(er) updated profile pic for his LinkedIn page. I want to run a little poll and ask you guys… which Parker do you like better.? Surfer Parker or POTUS Parker? Let the debates begin!!!

Brian Scott

Marcus Hollman from Virginia beach is also a good friend of Parkers who we happened to run into in the lineup. I like that TOMO board Marcus and that’s a pretty sick turn on that funky looking thing!

Brian Scott

Lyle is a pretty big dude as you can see. So you can kinda gauge the size of the waves we were getting at this spot today. Lyle was flying down the line on this wave. This was him coming at me from way up the point..

Brian Scott

..and him flying past me, same wave. Nice long ride buddy!

Brian Scott

Mike (another friend in our group today) throwing down some nice spray.

Brian Scott

This wave is a good leg burner when you connect one from the outside all the way in (maybe about 200 yards) and you can really work out your rail and cutback game, like Hunter’s doing here.

Brian Scott

He’s a grom, so naturally he’s got lots of energy for that long paddle back up the point. Shaka = Good wave!

Brian Scott

Renato is a local ripper and good friend of mine. He was throwing down some insane turns today, lighting up my lens with cool shots like this!

Brian Scott

After surfing the point for a bit we decided to head over to check out this little mysto right we thought might be working with the incoming tide. Here’s PJ paddling to get into one of the bomb sets that were detonating. The size at the place easily doubled from where we were surfing earlier by the time we got to this spot and there were some serious grinders coming through...

Brian Scott

… for example. Check out this sequence of Parker taking one for the team. Oh buddy! that a was a heavy wipeout, BUT props for GOING BIG!!! Bet you’re still finding sand in odd places tonight? haha

Brian Scott

The one that a got away..!!

Brian Scott

Holmes and Hunter…

Brian Scott

Dave, Lyle, Jay, Mike and PJ, Thanks for a super fun day as we look forward to getting some more waves with your guys before your trip is over!

Brian Scott

Oh ya, I forgot to mention for all you goofy footers! Yes, there was a left too!!! Sweet dreams..!!! See you all back here tomorrow to see what's in store for more waves.

Buenas Noches ~!
