First peak was actually breaking good comparing it to the rest of the peaks here at Santana, mellow rights and fast, vertical drops on the lefts.

The tide was dropping fast so there was a lot of water running out through the channel next to the rocks making the rights difficult to ride.

But there was plenty of room for one or two turns before the rights closed out.

Towards the center of the beach the waves were scattered and messy. Only one little surfer was trying to figure them out.

At First peak were only 3 surfers, and this guy with the yellow trunks was having a great time.

Here he goes, attacking the lip with plenty of speed right after a vertical drop.

Little A-frames at Santana… and this is not a good day according to our standards.

This kid was having serious trouble with the vertical drops at First peak, don’t worry buddy, we all have been there and done that!

According to the forecast (which has been not very accurate the last few days), tomorrow will be a lot better, with no onshore winds and a little bigger.

For now, it’s just better to go fishing or go for a run on the beach or just sweat wherever you are because it’s been really hot!
