Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, April 13, 2016

Hello friends and welcome to the midweek surf report at NSR! This is Parker updating you on today's boat trip. A crew went north so check out their sessions!

Meet today's rippers (left to right): Clay, George, Andy, and Bradley. These guys are visiting us for the first time from Jacksonville, Florida. It's been epic having y'all here and we're just getting started!!

Well, if you're going to surf all day, you need to hydrate! Don't forget to pack a few Tonas for after your sessions on your next boat trip. It's the Nicaraguan equivalent to Gatorade.

First stop: a never ending left point break. You will surf this wave for so long that your knees will give out on your 8th turn. After the long paddle back out, you'll be crying for our massage ladies. The struggle is real in Nicaragua...

First up, the gang leader: Clay. Being accustommed to surfing East Coast beach breaks, he was stoked to surf a rippable left reef. All smiles for 300 yards (until the paddle back out)!

Bradley was the CSO (Chief Style Officer) of the crew. Truth be told, he ditched us last night to practice his turns in the mirror so his photos would turn out better.

Ask Andy how he feels about today's excursion... double shakas!!

George joined the party. Because these guys are great friends, they were stoked to share waves!

Codo is a valuable asset to your boat trip. He knows these breaks extremely well and he can call an audible. Throw the boards in, reapply your sunscreen, crack another Tona, and enjoy the ride to the next spot!

This reef is a little farther north but it's worth the ride. Because this spot is sensitive to the morning winds and the winds were shifting, Codo perfectly timed a session here.

Bradley was on it again. These guys were so amped to surf this spot alone! A well time boat trip could easily be the highlight of your surf trip, right dudes???

Out of the water, Clay lead a decorated Spikeball career. In 1998, he was the junior world champ. In the fall of 2002 (mid October to early November), he held the number one spot on ESPN's Top Ten for his amazing game winning dive. Mad respect for this man!

Annddddd he likes to keep it fresh and have a good time! Clay, nice work planning the trip for you and your friends! We're stoked you could spend a week with us.

Meanwhile, George's stache and winter insulation was giving him special barrel riding powers. Hit this spot at a lower tide and you'll find hollowier waves. At higher tides, it gets mushy and playful.

Andy and his wife Lauren had a beautiful baby girl two months ago. Soon enough, Olivia will be ripping like her dad!!

Yes NICA Land offers many epic left reef/point breaks. However, don't forget about us regular footers! Keep your eyes open and you'll find your fair share of rights coming through.

Being a finance guy, Clay knows how to leverage his dollars and his fins. By the middle of their session, these boys were settling in and nailing some turns.

Melissa, Ashley, Sarah, and Lauren, thank you for giving this crew a week of freedom to hang out with us in Nicaragua! Your husbands have been enjoying the gorgeous oceanfront Cantamar, surfing great waves, and devouring our delicious meal plan. Join the party next time (or maybe the in-home massages, the beauty spa, the day trips, or horseback tours)!

The swell will be doing the same thing tomorrow. Afterwards, it takes a slight dip then shoots back up for the weekend. Back to back swells are great for everything besides our sore back muscles and the work piling up...

Everybody won today! The dudes enjoyed a full day of surfing, Codo spent the day out of the office, and I'm eating my 24th Oreo while writing the report. Let us hook you up with a boat/photography session while you're visiting!

Don't rush into your Thursday morning like that... take two more minutes to check out our last shots! A cool community service project was completed in the last few days.

The 11st crew from San Diego built a fence for a family wellness center in Las Salinas. They partnered with Missions of Grace so thank you Cherri for taking lead on this project!!

These guys always take a surf trip so it made sense to tie in a community service initiative. It makes sense to give back, especially after enjoying our barrels! As a result, they created SWAP (Surfers with a Purpose).

For a group of young strapping 24 year old men (times that number by two... maybe), manual labor is tough in the tropics! Not to mention the epic session these guys sacrificed to build the project...

No pesky unwanted guests are getting by that fence!! Thank you to Cherri, SWAP, and the donors for helping out the community! Check out their article posted (http://myemail.constantcontact.com/We-did-it-together---Fence-is-up-.html?soid=1115603422674&aid=dm4tBMgH7ok) or go to (http://missionsofgrace.org/support-mog-donate) if you would like to contribute to Missions of Grace. Ok everybody, thanks for checking out the report and we hope you had a day as good as we had! Hasta en la manana primos!!
