So with short and little to almost no real logistical knowledge (without seeing anything first hand), me and a couple of good friends decided to pull the plug and make a last minute stealth trip up the coast.

If you’ve never been to the coast of Nicaragua, you need to know that it’s by far one of the best ways to see this place by boat.

EACH

And every time!

Seth (who unfortunately didn’t make the iconic Tavarua founder John Roseman boat jump photo op) made it off the boat first and this was his first wave.

Finding gold on a completely Sh!tty onshore day would be literally understating our find this afternoon. Seth shimmering in all his goldmine!

The Godfather or as I like to say.. the “Patron” of this secret spot knows this place like a bloodhound.

He can sniff at any given time when this place even burps with a little life.

I’m glad this legendary gambler put all his money on me and our decision to make a last minute surf trip today!

Emi, whom I can say was quite pleasantly surprised to jump onboard last minute. Showed all appreciation for my lens and your eyes for the entire surf session!

When you have an entire lineup to yourself and the entire coast is junk all day. This is how you show your appreciation.

Here’s a closer look. Ya, and the tide was dropping quick and there’s a lot of big boulders exactly where I like to swim to get these kinds of shots.

But that’s never going to effect this happy camper. Fun waves always makes for happy smiles!

Mr. Seth said to me on the boat ride over today that he hasn’t surfed here for a little while. That’s because he’s always working his A$$ off over at Iguana’s as a family man and a business man.

You know what’s better than solidarity and mind off of matter with really good time at a good surf spot????

Knowing you have that entire time to not think about anything….. anything other than how hard you’re gonna smack that lip!

To find these kind of glassy waves today….. well let’s just say, it was like finding a needle in a haystack.

and if you don’t believe me…..

Here’s Emiliano threading the needle in about 3 feet of water.

Glassy, uncrowded going into late April. PLEASE PINCH ME!!!!!!!

We’re all living in a pretty spectacular special surreal dream here right now.

And trust me when I say, we’re all super gracious and thankful for every day!

Because every day is a blessing beyond imagination!

In my opinion, Ty got the freaking golden globes wave of the day. Ok, I’m not sure why I said Golden Globes. But how sick is this backlit wave with him throwing me a shaka right before he got lit up by the lip and then the reef. YEAAAAAHHHH TYLER!!!! So SiKKKKK!!!!!

It was literally like a conveyer belt out there until the sun escaped the day. Seth with a solid fun set wave out the back.

When the waves, conditions and crowds are like this… it’s aways really hard to see who’s make the paddle back to the boat first.

Emi wasn’t going back without a fight!

Aaaaand I’m not joking! This is when my water-house & camera got destroyed!!!!

Ok, I had to end that with a funny little side joke (sorry for that). My camera is still intact and ready for the next super fun stealth mission. Who’s up for the next one????If you’re frothing on surfing, don’t panic. You can still monitor all that’s going on in the world right now, and I highly recommend booking your first post “Rona” trip to Nica before anywhere else. If that’s not doable, well you can always count on seeing how fun the waves are from here via your phone / or computer for now. Thank you for spending todays session with us. It was fun!Chao 4 Now ~
