Hola and Welcome to the Wednesday surf report. It was absolutely firing early this AM. (I give a little explanation as to why I’m getting it posted so late today, but Go ahead and jump on in there already and check out a little sneak peek of todays GEMS!
Mr. Bushman not in detention nor anywhere near a classroom for that matter. Matter fact, I bet he’d let his entire class take a “Skip School” day for a day like today! haha
This new swell which has been growing each day had some serious bombs coming through.
John Gillem in his element and in the most perfect spot he loves to be in when these size and kind of waves hits our shoreline.
Anyone who was out, definitely got a nice taste of some of our proper legit bigger surf.
For those who opted for just watching from the beach, the top notch guys (like Oscar here) certainly put on a show for everyone.
This is just one of the SOLID 10’s that Carlos paddled into and rode to complete perfection, from take off…
To setting up for that HUGE, really (I’m sure very scary looking looooong loooong wall of water ahead of him that pretty much anyone else out there would have put money down that it was completely un-makable.
Carlos knows this wave better than anyone else. Hands downs. And this is on his backhand. You should see him on the even bigger longer rights. INSANE to watch him get so deep….
He’ll sometimes be so covered up for so long, most people think he ate it somewhere along the line in the middle where it’ll be seconds before the wave come to the end with a big plume of spit.
But, if you know Carlos and you know his surfing…. you now he’s 99.9% gonna come flying out.
Like he did, on this one and many others today.

YES… its was one of those kind of days… you just do not want to turn your back and head away from waves that just won’t stop coming. BUT we’re all hoping its like this again tomorrow. Howdy everyone! Today was a bit of a conundrum of sorts with the surf. I got up super early to check the waves at 6am only to find that the onshore winds from last night made this mornings conditions a bit undesirable with a bit of morning sickness to the lineup. I ended up checking..
