I want to dedicate this report to the students that lost their life fighting for their ideals, protesting and demanding for a change, for a better future… these losses have united Nicaraguans into one goal: To Reach Peace in a peaceful and democratic way.
The first few days were loud and messy, waves breaking hard on the rocks, pounding in every direction, everywhere… people paddling for their life.
But the people got together to support each other, “United we can” and “We are not afraid” they screamed, and together they paddled hard, duck-diving through the big waves.
A lot of the people got injured, taken by the waves, even gone forever. They won’t be forgotten.
You can go left or right, but we are a country and we shouldn’t fight each other like that, ever! Together we can make a change!
Together we can make of this beautiful beach an even better place, a place where everyone can have a voice and that voice can be respected by everyone.
A beach without corrupted, bad people. Where health, education and justice are our priorities.
Now the rough waters have calmed down. It’s time to think, analyze, plan for the future. It’s time to figure out how to let the Peace come back and stay forever.
We all need to sit down and talk what’s going on. Everyone should be aware of our past, everyone should know the truth about this big swell and everyone should care about the future.
If we all put our grain of sand together, we can create the beautiful beach we all want, it will take long, but we can do it, we will do it!
After we all agree on the changes to be made, and stablish the right tools to make it happen, like calibrating our buoys in a better way, no other big swell will appear and surprise us on the horizon.
The only waves we need to have are the ones that everyone is happy to ride and share, with good real options to choose from.
All the population need to find and pick the right line, where we want our country to go, and stick to that line until we come out of the tunnel, until we all succeed as a whole.
In the mean time, the surf season it’s just starting and the waves are pumping. Again, all this happened mostly in Managua, here on the beach everything has been normal, the only thing you need to be afraid of is to not go over the falls. As you might already know, Nicaraguans are super friendly and peaceful people, we just explode every few decades when something is not going right.¡¡ARRIBA NICARAGUA!!*Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion as a Nicaraguan… it does not necessarily reflect the opinion of owners and other workers of NSR.
