As of this morning, the swell was not really here yet. It was bigger than yesterday but still we didn’t see the 3-5 ft, 4 stars conditions that we were expecting according to the forecast.
Don’t get me wrong, there were still some good size waves with great potential.
Second peak was working really good, throwing some nice A-frames.
The local groms were catching the little ones on the inside at first peak, but then the good, bigger waves caught them by surprise every time.
They were having a great time at first peak, cheering each other on every ride.
And as kids playing around, there is always a chance of one (or two) getting hurt.
Thankfully it was not the case on this wave… but that kid was very close to fillet his friend’s legs!
The rights were opening really nice today, and not just in shape, also in hollowness.
By mid morning the wind picked up a bit, making it hard to catch the waves at the right time, or place like this guy that was too deep.
Of course, the strong wind didn’t affect the local expert Darwin Jacamo (@darwinjacamo) at catching the best barrel of the day.
He got really deep (by choice) on this one, and stayed there for a while.
Sadly, not everyone is as good as Darwin, there were plenty of barrel dodging today. The swell should fully arrive tomorrow, don’t forget to check us out tomorrow, Cheers!
RECENT REPORTS
Welcome to 2025 everyone! Happy New Year! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. I basically pulled an all-nighter and woke up early to surf after the late night fiesta. The lineup was empty even at 8:00am and the waves were fun. I surfed then took photos.
