Somewhere in Nicaragua
Welcome back for another week of waves and for the local peeps down here to get back to the grind as their long weekend that extended into today known as the “dia de trabajo” or better known to most other non Latin countries as Labor day “Holiday”. Sadly for most it’s time to go back to work, however, the festivities over the weekend and into today were abundant, but so were the waves. . . Check it out!
Cesar taking the day off…. wait, that’s every day when the waves are good….. jaja so that might mean he didn’t work a single day in all of April. Haha j/k mi hermano! Cesar’s one of the hardest working AND hardest playing people around here. Check him out on this well over his head sized green machine!
Also the girl to guy ratio out there today was super exceptionally close. Actually I think there might have been more gals than guys out there. We’ll let Maria here let you decide as her wave is almost identical to Cesars in the previous shot. All the way down to the take off, size, bottom turn. Well, actually maybe Maria’s might be a tad bigger, but then again I think Cesar is taller??? Hmmm, ok, it’s a 50/50 tie!
I didn’t see one single barrel today, which felt really really odd, being that it’s been a non-stop barrel fest for the last month at least. But as you can see here, Today was all about going back to that good old, just having fun in super playful, and impeccably clean condition of waves A G A I N ! ! ! ! LOL
Like Elise here, got the guys on the shoulder all googely eye’d just watching her style it out on that mini log.
Tide was getting high, and so was the backwash! Hows that water color tho???
Everyone was trying (for the glorious barrels), but nope, it was all race and drive and flex with your best carve, cutback or even air game out there today.
Not sure who this hombre is, but he was flexing his backhand game pretty nice out there.
When I said “Drive” this is exactly what I meant and Mr. D here, giving us a picture perfect example of how to do it.
AND BAAMMM, that’s where all that speed and power gets turned into.

You can run, but she’ll mow you down. . . get up dude and drive through that gnar gnar section that who knows what it’s about to do???. . . or pull in get that “Glory Shot”!!!!
Jackson is so well versed on this wave and he’s so mellow and chill, he’s like the Bob Ross of high performance surfing. Yeah, you get it…. “Pretty little wave”!!!
When you watch and capture surfing long enough, you know pretty much what’s coming next when you see that surfer setting up for his next move with a bottom turn like this.
I was 80% sure it was going to be a big huge backside air reverse. But this will suffice. Nahhh…. this wave had no chance! Super Epic surfing out there today brother!
Ahhhhh – well, ya know, it’s ok to admit when you’re wrong. I forgot, there was. . . . but one, just this one wave. . . . .
That I actually did capture someone getting covered up and coming out. Can’t call it a mystery barrel surfer, but he got barreled and that’s all we really care about, right!?!?!!
Dan the MAN and Geeeesh, Josh, when did you turn into Laird Hamilton Jr.????? Hahaaaaaa! Ok I’m officially delirious, it’s been an insanely long day. Gotta go rest up so we can get some more killer content again mañana. Hi everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The swell definitely began to fill in today. The main challenge was the wind and extreme tides. This morning the tide was low, and the swell was just starting to fill in, but the wind was favorable which was good.
