If you still don’t know this “secret” about this famous wave, take notes: not only it’s located in Southern Nicaragua, where due to the proximity with Lake Nicaragua, there is always offshore winds on the coast throughout the day the year around… you can also surf Popoyo at any tide! As you see here, I went at low tide with all the rocks exposed.

There were only a few surfers in the water which is rare nowadays… I guess everyone expected bigger waves so they went somewhere else?

This is such a nice waves, it the perfect spot to work on and develop your style. A great wave where you can focus on how to look cool while surfing.

This guy was definitely working on his roundhouse cutback on the lefts.

Check out this local guy, after catching good speed, he is ready to practice a great turn one more time.

A solid layback hack… transforming all that speed into a massive spray.

With great control and for sure always looking cool during the whole turn.

Did somebody say Good Waves? The Resano sisters are always hre when it’s good. Here is Cande with her already perfected backside ride.

And Valen always ready to attack the lip on her frontside.

Popoyo throws some barrels here and there to keep surfers on their tows, always looking for that special place we all chase.

Monday Funday Popoyo style!

The waves will continue for a few more days so, come back tomorrow for a Tuesday Funday from Colorado with our buddy Brian Scott!
Buenas noches!
