It was an all day affair of perfect waves. Not matter the tide or the time of day, it was pretty much firing all day long.

When you live in a place where the waves are good almost year round, its hard to take a report like we have today and not get overly excited, but today was one of those days.

At the Playa, from sun up to pretty much sun down (which is where I was all day today) it was pure magic!

OK, this photo may need a little explanation. This is Kevin Cortez on what could very well be the wave of the day. He took off super deep and setup for the perfect barrel. Only because I’m limited on time, I’m only gonna show you one of the frames early on, on this wave.

and here’s one of the last frames. Kev scored one of the sickest double barrels I’ve seen at this spot. (Sequence coming soon!!!!!!!!) 🙂

All the boys were out there killing it… but so were the ladies!!! Yah Tati!!

Jenny on a macker set wave (on one of our pre-swell waves out there today).

Rutcie was absolutely on fire today. She must have surfed at least 4 hours straight. But that’s what you do when the waves are this good!

Esteban perfectly showing us how well overhead it was.

Scott showing us his OHHHH face.

Because this is how what he had to deal with coming out of that thing!!

Nacho came completely geared up and ready to conquer todays epic waves on his trusty twin fin. Can you say slotted???

However, dealing with super hollow and crunchy waves like this.. there’a always consequences. Nick punched his shin straight threw his rail. not to worry… there’s always another board waiting back at the pad.

Ty was my all time hero today packing this pre-swell bomb!

He was so deep that this is one of the only slides I could show where he’s still in view. I can only imagine HIS VIEW tho!!!

Luckily there were still waves with some room for some turns. Dario, turning. With style!

Size-O-Meter….. here ya go! Everybody loves a Size-O-Meter.

How perfect was it? Pretty good, I’d say.

The rights were firing all morning. The one and only reason you won’t see too many lefts in this report is because they produce way better light in the afternoon. But here’s on for your viewing pleasure sometime well before lunch time.

One of the great things about combing surf & skating is you have just a bit of more added flare to your already pronounced style.

Dario obviously has just that!

OK, so we had a Size-O-Meter, here’s your Crowd-O-meter.

Peek-a-boo who???

At some point, everyone takes some gas. It’s all part of the game.

Especially when pushing your personal limits with surfing.

Unfortunately the real sting is when you see what you could have made. (*ED note.. the surfer who wiped out on this wave absolutely kills it on the reg here daily. So don’t be disheartened by this very freak and unnatural occurrence from such a talented phenom). Plus it would be nice to have some compassion, he broke his board too. We can all relate the these atrocities when dealing with mother ocean!

On a lighter note…. things were still going down.

A you can see… very well, actually. Not a drop of water out of place for Nick on this late morning drainer.

Mystery barrel surfers…. ALL. DAY. LONG! ! !

If you ever fancied yourself a tubo aficionado…. well, this might be your place.

Not a fan of crowds… Even better!!!!

All airlines have been suspended until further notice. Que Nota amigo? But for reals…. super sick fins free hermano!

Do you guys really need more proof how good it was today??

You can pick your friends, and and you can pick your nose… but you can’t pick your friends nose.

If your local spot looked like it did here today…. say YEY!!!! You’re one hell of a lucky person.

Super stoked to see my buddy Marcos paddle out at the beachie today for some barrels. He’s a regular up at the reef. I think we can all tell just from his bottom turn.

Jackson graduated from the minor league to the BIG leagues a long time ago. Can you guess why????
