Somewhere in Nicaragua
Happy Sunday Funday amigos!!! I’m so happy to write to tell you we have some new swell that started pounding our shores today. It was a bit of a waiting game throughout the day, but my patience paid off, as you’ll see in todays surf report. Hope you ENJOY!
This obviously is what any surfer loves to see when they roll up to their favorite break.
Sean Pearson out chasing wave at just the right time today and passing GO while collecting hazard pay along the way.
BTW this wave he clocked almost 10 seconds in the barrel. Here he is about midway through… giving a clinic on proper barrel riding skills.
The complete and perfect image for self isolation while being a surfer… or shall I say being a very “Free Surfer”.
Matt grinding it out on a really heavy, almost low tide, below sea level drainer.
Here he is on another one bringing it in on dividends on his NSS subscription for May.
Manny happily knows how to show up exactly every time when the real surf show is always going down. Smiles are always the added bonus.
You’d be sprinting your happy a$$ out there if the waves were empty and looking like this too, right???
Mi hermano Derek has been posted up here for the long haul. How’s his soul arch into this mid afternoon delight?
He knows this wave just as well as all his other favorites.
Which pretty much encompasses most of the words oceans and premier surf spots.
Lumps and bumps way out on the outside usually means two things…..
You better paddle your heart out, so you can catch one of those behemoths.
and two…. never get caught off guard by one, or you might get smoked!

There were actually some lefts too. Kinda ironic for the land of lefts.
Robin, putting his other home break of Hossegor, France to much use today.
Chacoyo was one of the only few locals out there showing the local knowledge in todays growing swell. I’m sure tomorrow, I’ll have plenty of local power to show you. Super bummed my boys, Lesther, Oscar, Jason and crew are held up in Guatemala right now during this world lock down. Hope to see you guys back soon, amigos!!!
If I counted correct today… I think there were no more than 10 people in the entire lineup all day today. Robin’s completely ok with that.

Mr. Chris Russel (your other NSR player) came out to play too. Sick forehand back-grab slip’n’slide into this chunky little, offshore blown salt mine hermano!
Another Chris, aka ALD, aka Another day in the life, Mr. Chris Conner, who’s been down here for way longer than I can even recall has got to be the most surf stoked human on the planet when he’s surfing these waves. Don’t believe me…. just zoom in and look at his face!!!!
Well, there might just be one other guy….. of course it would have to be Manny. Look at him all encompassed and surrounded by his love of mother ocean! Signs are signs. Doesn’t get more literal than that.
Earlier I mentioned Sean was giving clinic with his barrel riding skills today. Let me rephrase that… he gives clinics with anything surfing. Yeaaahhh he’s that GOOD!!!!
And just as that low tide started to appear…. the really hungry surfers stayed while everyone else called it a day. Josh, hungry and ready for anything!
And with that low tide… also comes some really funky, yet dangerous waves. Joe, all in!!!!
Nothing can stop a true surfer, be it tide, unfavorable winds, or in this case size…. especially when you’ve watched and waited all day for these kinds of waves to come in. So glad they came in today for my buddy John!

Hey amigos! Welcome to Thursday’s surf report from Colorados. I saw the waves turn on and off about 7 separate times today. The conditions were in constant flux. It just so happened to be that the best window of the day was when I took pictures around 1:00pm.
Hey everyone! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Colorados. The waves were better by all measurable metrics today. It was still walled up and slow, but there were definitely some 10 pointers to be had.
Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday evening’s surf report from Colorados. The swell was bigger and stronger today, but it was very slow between the sets. I think the lack of a secondary swell combined with the sandbars not being in perfect shape made for long waits.
