The rights were definitely holding up better but there were a few sick lefts rolling in. Jackson Obando from Gigante was ripping hard in the 16’s division.
We got the day started with the open’s semifinal where Andrew was fightin’ to get a spot in the finals. Dropping deep on waves like this, pulled into a few sick barrel sections, but he didn’t make any. This was his last heat!
The open division was the most fighted category, surfing level was pretty high and everyone was doing the best to keep it. Isaac from Chinandega with a cool little floater on his backhand.
La Bestia Calderon was disposed to win this contest but it wasn’t an easy task. He did good in the semis but he wasn’t too lucky in the final.
A pretty good crowd showed up to the beach and they had a good time. Hola muchachos!
Kevin was ripping hard through all his heats, made it to the finals and almost win it. Just a little bit more Kevin!
The waves were very powerful and they were throwing people over the falls all day long. Ouchhhh!
Nicaragua’s surfing future!
Joel El Capullo Chavez from Astillero didn’t make it to the contest over Playa Maderas but he’s ready to take this one. Well done Capullito!
We also had a few sick barrels to catch and this kid from Chinadega scored a few. Going frontside!
And Carlos on his backside!
La Gaviota Chamorro didn’t have a good taste from the past contest at Playa Maderas so he trained harder to win this one. With powerful backside snaps.
The chicks were dominated by Hanna Barnes with little floaters in the inside sections like this. Way to go Hanna!
It is time for some lunch. Clase bajona!!!
El Corage Hernandez did fly to the states a couple days ago, that means that we are going to have a new champion in the longboard division. Pedrito La Mole Florez ripped a few waves, probably enough to keep the tittle.

RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Panga Drops. The conditions were very similar to yesterday, possibly a little bigger on the sets.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
The seasons have officially changed. Some significant onshore plagued us today. We don’t say this often, but the surf was not very good today. This shot shows a lone panga in the mix.
