Nicaragua Surf Report for Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Hi everybody and welcome to the Tuesday surf report. Today we headed out to the beach in the morning at low tide because we were expecting to get onshore winds, but luckily we didn’t. The waves were small but there were still something to ride and have fun. It was running about knee to waist high on sets, the water was clear and warm and the lineup was really mellow. Check it out!!!

Part of the NSR family was able to paddle out today and ride a few small but nice looking waves. Here is our very own Pancho Sanchez with a cool backside turn on this right.

“El Guineo” Mateo was trying to do some stuff on the small waves as well. It looks like he is very familiar with the small things, we don’t know why. Anyway, here we caught him throwing the lip off the back.

Meanwhile, “La Bestia” Calderon keeps in the water practicing some new maneuvers to add in the upcoming contest at Playa Santana. Check him out going big with a rodeo flip on this left.

His uncle wasn’t lucky enough to make it into the finals in the last contest at Playa Astillero. So now he is going through some rituals that he learned when he was traveling around. We don’t know what the meaning of that makeup is. Undala, undala, undala!!!

On the last shot of the day we have “El Cacaste” Florez setting up with a nice bottom turn on this small but sweet left. The waves are supposed to be about the same size for the next few days but we are hoping to have a new swell in the water this weekend.
Picha in love!!!
