Somewhere in Nicaragua
Hello and welcome to a historic day to Nicaragua. The ISA World Surf Games celebrated today the open ceremony with more than thirty Countries participating. The days was gorgeous and the waves look good. Here is a look of the peak of the famous Popoyo, world class wave. This is a surf party, all the best surfer of the world are here enjoying of are hospitality, our culture and for sure the offshore wind of this country bless for god. This is Nicaragua Surf Report covering the entire event.
All the teams were getting ready to the seremoni. So the lineup was almost empty.
The swell is increasing tomorrow so we think everything look good for the competition.
This girl was ripping out there. The left is the best so we will see a lot of sick combinations of tricks in this ramp.
The parade was cheerful. Many greetings of welcome and applause were heard in the streets of the city of Rivas. Here is the Mexico team. AAAAAhuuuuuaaaaa, Viva Mexico jodido.
One of our brother of Central América ( Panamá ) is here. With all star of his Country.
Here is Portugal. This team have good competitors. It is one of the big team in this contest.
The Puerto Rico team have beautiful girls representing his country. I think this is my favorite team. Hahahaha.
Here is Scotland with the traditional dress. We are happy to share and see the culture of the others countries and even like this one is a good way to do. We have some traditional dance like part of the expectaculos.
The sound of the bell and the horn came of the team Switzerland. The comparza and all the instruments of the bands make a great sound in the atmosphere. Everybody were dancing in the street.
The Nicaraguan team had a super welcomed by the entire population present in the central park of Rivas city. The support the government, all the organizers and the institutions could be seen this day with very good results. We hope that everything continues to go well and we wish them all the luck and the support to our team.
The mayor of the city and the president of the ISA were giving the welcome to all the teams. Making oficial the surf games.
The traditional ceremony start with the representation of every team passing in front of the stage and empty a bag of sand of one beach of his country. Here is the first country Argentina. This surfers put the good vivre in the entire place. A big scream of the audience was going on in the second he climbed into the stage.
Here is the Australia team. Australia is one of the surf nations how always is part of the club.
Representing to Brazil is here our friend Renato. Brazil don’t sent to Medina because they really believe is enough sending to Renato’s to have the gold medal.
Carlos Muños turn on all the entire place with his shines. Giving thank to god for giving the opportunity of be here and be part of the surf history of this country.
I like the New Zealand team too. They always have beautiful surfers.
A team have a dance presentation dressing like Tarzan making Yuji So. I don’t remember the name, but that was cool presentation. We don’t understand what they say, but sound like a aboriginal war dance.
For the United States. Damien hobgood. He is one of the face in this contest. everybody want to see him destroying the waves.
Rex Calderon is the Nicaraguan surf star. We go to see him, doing a good show of airs and massive cuts with a combination of sick floaters and thousand turns in one wave. Put attention to this surfer, is a Nicaraguan proud.
The locals from playa Jiquiliste are doing the hard lavord of keep clean and organize the place for the event. Here is the big bear Meky Zedek. He make look easy a work for normally need three people.
Just for incase, be careful with this two gangsters.

Hoooo!!! Noooo!!!! Nothing good is for ever. Here is the green team, organised for Rancho Santana in mutual cooperation with Finca Popoyo and really representing Nicaragua. They are the hero today making everything looking clean and nice for the first day of competition. Here is the crowd of friends after a full day of work. Gracias por todo su trabajo primos.

Hello friends. Today we woke up early for check the surf condition and was pure rain during all morning. Good water temperature with nice color and the wave have 4 feet with good shape. Check it out.
Trying to beat the strong onshore winds this morning and we did. It wasn’t barreling as always but there were lot of sections to hit all over. Chest to shoulder high waves on the bigger sets, moderate onshore winds and nice water. Check it out!!!
