Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, June 03, 2024

Josh S

Hey everyone. Welcome to Monday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. The onshore flow has begun! Luckily it was fairly mild and a bunch of grommets were out tearing it up irrespective of marginal conditions.

Josh S

This young guy with the orange fins and TBS board was diligently practicing his backside air reverses. Might as well when we get the rare West wind.

Josh S

Another one of the young fellas putting his fins to work and chucking some buckets.

Josh S

Mr. Backside Air Reverse won the heat today. Here’s his highest score of the session.

Josh S

A nice clean air. His board fully disengaged with some rotation set in place.

Josh S

His nose hit the water first which is a good thing for "softening" the landing.

Josh S

This frame leaves us feeling a bit pessimistic. Only his front foot engaged on the board. It’s gonna be a tricky position to navigate and complete the rotation.

Josh S

Haha! The “stand tall” claim. It was well deserved after pulling that air revo. Well done buddy.

Josh S

I’m just noticing this now, but this is really shaping up to be a “groms only” surf report.

Josh S

Get ready for the elevator drop amigo! Sick floater here. Floaters always look best when the surfer has plenty of speed coming into the section.

Josh S

If I had to speculate, I would guess all of these groms are here together as a group. This fella wanted to steal some of “Mr. Backside Revo’s” thunder. I like his style, but he didn’t ride out of this one.

Josh S

Rooster tail spotted!

Josh S

The groms kinda dominated today, but to close the report I have a few frames of some adult surfers. This guy managed to sneak into a drained out double-up tube.

Josh S

Just as he managed to sneak in, he also managed to sneak out. Nicely done sir. Possibly the only barrel of the evening.

Josh S

I’m not 100% sure on this, but I think this is one of Kenny’s sisters getting vertical on a fun coping section.

Josh S

One elusive empty tube to close the report. The surfers this evening made lemonade from the lemons. If Surfline and Windguru are correct, then we will receive some funky winds tomorrow and Wednesday for quite some time. Big swell and big onshore on the way. Oh well we gotta get our “negative variance” in at some stage eventually.
