Somewhere in Nicaragua
Hey everybody, what’s up? This is “Chewy” your fearless intern (besides heights) throwin’ you the Saturday report. So today I lost my masculinity. Some pros are in Nic, catching some fun waves. Cj Hobgood, Jessie Hines, and Peter Mendia were all ripping the waves to shreds and putting on an air show. It was like watching a surf movie… live! I only took pictures for 30 minutes, because you know I had to surf, and check it out! Sick!
This is 2001 world champ and my new idol CJ Hobgood. Dude is super nice and rips it to shreds. I wish I had some waterproof paper ‘cause I was trying to take notes! But really, he was super nice about me taking pictures of him as he walked down the beach. Haha “Dude, can I have your autograph?”
Man, JJ rips! I had never seen him surf and I couldn’t believe it. I kept saying, ”why isn’t this guy on the world tour?” Check this fan out… it’s like four feet in front of him! So much speed! Man fan for sure… today I felt like a boy.
Wwhhaaaatt! This was bigger in person, I swear. CJ Hobgood must be like 20 feet in the air!
Man, somebody has to keep CJ humble. Good thing we have JJ to come to the rescue. No hands, 21 feet in the air, and he stuck it like it was a walk in the park!
There was some Ams out there keeping up with the pros. Here’s a man fan from an unknown solider. Great turn man!
This is one of the reef team riders Phil. He was so nice and check out this air! That is a tough place to grab your board! When I was in the water I saw him take off on a wave and yell credit card air! I was like “what?” and he busted a credit card air and stuck it clean, I think I cried a little. (in a good way)
I ran out of synonyms for sick, does anyone have a thesaurus? CJ Hobgood has odd ability.

Mr. Hobgood, you have officially blown my mind and made my fantasy surfer team for Brazil.
JJ brought his family to the beach, so I had to be all arty and put them in the foreground. Everybody watch daddy do work! Those kids are gonna be pro surfers for sure.
For the last shot of the day we have “The Godfather” ready to do battle. Thanks to all those guys for being so cool and putting on such a good show! The report says onshore but we will wait and see, Check back and find out.

Holy Onshores! Even so, look at this mutant barrel Roberto found in the Bay. Alberto, you need to pull in to these man. Anyway, we’ve got overhead swell, but a bad wind pattern that looks like it will be here for a few more days. Oh well, time to get some work done.
