Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, June 07, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone. Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. The wind was pretty rough most of this morning, but lightened up this evening.

“The left uppercut” haha!

Although the conditions cleaned up some this evening, there was still plenty of foam and froth to contend with. Especially on the latter waves of the sets.

The trend of the size was gradually decreasing through the day, so it was important to stay low during your turns on the smaller waves.

If you could get the speed, then definitely use it!

This guy in red managed to find what might have been the only brief barrel of the day. Lucky guy.

Even the boogey’s were out spinning around and enjoying the relatively favorable conditions.

Challenge of the day: who can throw the largest spray ring?

Josh S

Although the size faded through the day, you can see here that there were still head high plus sets. The Chopes swell did show, but unfortunately it coincided with bad winds.

This guy likely released all of his pent up energy into this turn. I feel like many of the surfers were really fired up out there after spending more time on the land than they initially expected coming into their trips.

Mirage Peak trying its best to look pretty haha! I don’t think today was the day for that spot. So much current and too shifty down that way today. It’s a once in a blue moon type of wave. Anyways tomorrow should be fairly similar wind-wise, but a bit smaller. Let’s see what we get.
