Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, June 11, 2009

Man, it’s a shame the wind switched because we have a little swell in the water. The waves are about chest high with mush burger sections perfect for airs! The Ripzone crew was on the beach modeling so we had a surf with the locals. We waited ‘til the afternoon to surf, and the ripzone crew caught it before the wind switched! Early bird gets the worm!

We wanted to start you off with Darwin “El Brujo” cranking a good cutback on a rare right. This guy was scratching for waves all over the peak and getting a bunch.

Who’s that Nica kid? Ohh wait, that’s just Mateo “Guineo” busting out of this solid section. Feels like your right at home, huh Mateo?

Man! The pictures make it look a lot better than it was! Jairo, stop taking such good pictures! Here’s Juilo busting a solid cutback on the shoulder.

The onshore wind pushes the board back under your feet. So the local kids see it as the perfect opportunity to start trying new airs. Here’s Darwin ”El Brujo” trying a rodeo flip, even catching the fisherman’s attention.

There was a bunch of hand line fisherman on the beach. It’s crazy they can reel in a nice jack with their hands! I can barely do it with a fishing pole

We wanted to leave you with one of the younger locals on a fun looking wave. Where was I when this one came in? I need everyone to cross their fingers for the wind tomorrow! The NSR crew is gonna try to wake up early and catch it before it switches. Buenas noches, we’ll see you out there tomorrow!
