Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, June 12, 2013

God blessed Nicaragua once again.  Sick conditions for day 4 of the ISA world junior championship at Playa Jiquiliste.  Head high waves, straight offshore winds and warm water.  What else can you ask for?  Check out the lineup!

In the first heats of the day we had our boys Oscar Espinoza and Jackson Obando doing their best to keep Nicaragua on top.  Oscar worked pretty hard in his repechage heat but he couldn't find better waves to get some nice scores.  Unfortunately he got third and now he's officially out.  We are very proud of this kid for having such a good participation in this world event, first time in his life.  Well done fella!

Meanwhile down the beach, birthday man was ripping as hard as he could to advance to the quater finals in the 16's under division.  He was in second place with 25 seconds remaining but Leonardo Floravant from Italy had a sick last wave that took him into the second place.  Now Jackson is ready for his repechage heat tomorrow.  Hopefully no the last one for Nicaragua.  You got this Jackson, come on!

Nica people, supporting big time from the beach.  Yewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

We had a great competition all day long.  Costa Rican surfers keep moving forward, looking for a good spot overall.  Leo Calvo one of the their hopes in the 16's division, you can see why!

Rairarii Faufau from Tahiti, one of the boys in Oscar last heat.  Going big with sick floater!

All the people around is very friendly, it is nice to share expirience with all of them.  Team South Africa, one of the favorite teams to be in the podiun.  They are in the top 5 right now!

Leonardo Floravant from Italy with one of the three maneuvers he had in the last wave that took Jackson Obando down.  Fins out, and sliding the tail!

As soon as the tide was coming in, the conditions got even better.  Mother nature send us some love today.

Kai Hing  from Australia got the move of the day, for sure.  Earned a perfeect 10 with this it.

Just finding a perfect section for this kind of maneuver!  Shot 2.

Blastin' fins out.  Shot 3.

Shot 4, full rotation move!

Shot 5, looking sick!

Just about to land it.

No quite done yet!

Was is sick or not?  I would say amazing!

Yeahhh buddy, you had to claim it!

The day got super hot, and you can barely walk on the sand with no shoes.  Watch out boys!

Had no shoes, you can walk on some towels.  Anything work fine!

Nelson Cloareo from France got some juice out of first peak.  Sweet frontside turn on this lefty.

The girls were rippin' all over the place.  Taking advantage on the sick conditions we had.  Check out this little sequence of Kristin Odgen from Australia.

Sick backside snap, uh!

Solid turn, gave her first place in her heat at round 4th.  Danm, this chick rips!

And she landed it for sure.  Comgrats and good luck tomorrow chica!

Holding SSW groundswell with some more medium sized surf for the top SSW facing breaks for tomorrow, so Playa Santana should be running about 3-5 feets,  winds blowing about 8-10 knots offshore and the tide will be low right about 11:50 am.  Conditions looking great for tomorrow so if you are around stop by and check it out!   Lucha Libre out.
