Nicaragua Surf Report for Thursday, June 13, 2013

Hi there, Lucha Libre is back in the house with your Thursday surf report. Amazing conditions for day number 5 at Playa Santana for the ISA World Junior Surf Contest.  Head high plus waves on the bigger sets, sick offshore winds and sweet water.  Check it out!!!

We were so happy to see our boy Jackson Obando this morning taking first place in his heat, but that happiness became to an end in the afternoon.  Yeah folks, now team Nicaragua is officially out but we are still in so proud for these kids that represented our team very well. We are in place 19th and this is the first time we participate in this kind of magnitud event.  So gratefull for all the people that support the team for the whole process and hoping to stay on the road for future events.  Nicaragua is the only winner here, cheers!!!

The gorgous view from Casa Cantamar, surf right out front.  We recently had some June and July dates open up so you now have a chance to stay at this beachfront home for only $300/night.  We'll throw in a 7th night free as well!  Its perfect for couples, friends and families.  Add the cooking service as well to maximize your time in the water!

Team USA had a great day.  Colt Ward is caught here going big, adding some rotation to this aerail in his repechage heat in round 5.

Griffin Colapinto also from USA is into round 6.  Making maneuvers like this was enought for him to stay in the hunt for some medals.

Jake Marshall was a beast out there as well.  It looks like team USA has been having lots of Gallo Pinto lately, because they all looked super powerful. Sick vert!!!

It is nice to see all the girls having a blast.  Brazil, Peru and Costa Rica sharing the pura vida vibe!

Team Japon has been fighting for the whole contest but it looks like it is not going to be enought for them.  Kairi Noro on the last wave he took on this contest for team Japon.  Solid over head wave for this little kid, but we have to say that he was charging.

Clean-up sets were rolling in every once in a while.  Kabommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Aussie Team is on the way to the podiun, looking solid every single day.  Yesterday they scored the only perfect 10 in the whole event and today they had Jacob Wilcox putting on a nice show with the barrel sequence of the day.

Getting in the hot spot!

Getting deep!

Drivin' in!!!

Still going!

And going!

Finding the doggy door out!

And scaping.  That was cool to see Wilcox.  Comgrats for making it into round 6 of repechage!

A couple of kids couldn't get their expectations for this contest and they were feeling it.  Do not cry little boy because you are a winner already, just for being here and represent your country.

Leo Calvo from Costa Rica did his best to advance to the 6th round but he wasn't able to.  Throwing buckets off the back on his backhand!

Team Australia so stoked after winning the toughest heat of the day.  Well done fellas!

Running the quater finals tomorrow in the qualify U16's.  We'll be there, god willing so stay tuned with us.  Swell dropping a little bit, winds blowing in the 12 knots range and dead low tide will be about 12:30.  Peace!
