Somewhere in Nicaragua
Happy Sunday Funday everyone!! Well… today was in fact a very Fun Sunday at the beach. The swell dipped a little… actually quite a bit, but the conditions and smaller waves were so much fun, I think everyone here decided to paddle out. It was one of the best small days here in a really long time. Hope you Enjoy ~
I’ve gotta kick it all off with Carlitos Jr. Carlitos and his little amigo Jett have been absolutely upping the micro-grom game out here recently! Just charging (of course being pushed in by their mamas and papas) but still…. what the heck were you doing at 4 and 5 years old????
Kids of all ages come out to play today. Matt showing off his shredding skills while the waves aren’t scary and really hollow!
My man, Derek, came out today with this super sick little twin fin. He was killing it on it…. but then again what board isn’t he regularly killing it on?
Today was the perfect and playful size for all the chicas. The water is super warm and the waves are like a little skatepark. Fun for everyone!
Not sure who this backside ripper is, but his bottom turn is proper and the size of this wave was definitely one of the bigger set waves for sure!
I forgot to ask Derek what size this board is, but I can’t imagine it being over 4 feet. The thing is super tiny and works like a little skateboard.
So many close and personal friends out today. It’s super surreal how incredible it is to see this place with only familiar faces day in and day out for the past few months.
Ryan was out there riding his custom hand made, shoots, I don’t even know what to call it. All I know is it was perfect for todays conditions.
Did I mention skatepark?? Dario was on it like his trucks like coping and really good hand rail.
It’s a long way from Halloween, but Derek could easily pass as a surfing Super Hero here today!
Emilio has had a pretty nice mini-vacay here. Even though he’s Nicaraguan, he knows he doesn’t need to go far to have one of the best vacations anywhere here along Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast. Especially since he’s a surfer.

All the beautiful people came out to play today! And so did the butterflies!
John Gillem clocked in the most hours surfing today. I actually have shots of him from around 6am. I went home to to take care of some office stuff, but when I came back around 11, he was still out surfing. The guys a machine!!!!!

I’m just curious and I know you can’t reply back on here, but in your head, what’s the perfect or average number of waves to help you fulfill a good surfing session? Dario’s today was maybe around 30 + ? Maybe more? I can’t keep track.
His novia and partner in crime, Tati, was out today too, after a little bit of a hiatus. She said she didn’t have a very good session. Ummm well Miss Tati, I might have to disagree! haha nice little right and mini cover up!
I always love a good 12 O’Clock shot… but I actually looked at the time stamp on this photos and it actually really read 12:05. Matt always delivering my sundial clock perfectly!

I’ve gotta give my brother from another mother, Robert, props for all the killer shortboard shredding he’s been doing these last few weeks. He’s super humble and says he’s not doing well out there. I like to post these shots so he can see differently!
I’m not 100% sure if I am accurate with this comment here, but Hot Carl may be one of the most healthiest people here in the Tola area. That a being said, I almost wanna say that he like’s himself some “Hot Pockets” because this is one helluva hot pocket.

When your get fresh crew is just about as stoked as the beginner crew that just paddled out for some really fun waves… this is what it looks like.
All eyes on the beginner talent. The hooting and support from the beach was nothing short of AWESOME!!!!
Dario is of course one of the best teachers around here, be it for surf lessons, guitar lessons, or skate lessons. He’s continually giving a clinic!

Ok, its not often that I expose the “Mystery barrel surfer of the day”, but here he his. Mr. Grant. He can do killer turns too!
Kenny make the paddle out after I was baking in the sun for well over 2 and half hours. I’m always stoked to see him get a bunch of good ones every time he paddles out.
If you remember the very first slide… it was of young Carlitos charging on a well overhead monster! Well, here’s his Pops, Carlos Señor. Soon his little guy will being doing just like “Daddy”.

By the time my amigo Cesar paddled out, I was already shooting for almost 3 hours and my battery light was flashing on RED. But I’m super stoked I got this super sick left of him dropping in on this well overhead gem….
And even more stoked for him that he caught this incredible left!
Well…. it was just that kind of day. Prefect waves, love and happiness.

Hello and Happy Sunday. We headed off campus today to the south and tried to find some mellower waves. There’s still p[plenty swell in the water. @tonyzphotos bring you the days action.
Woah! The swell showed up big time this Saturday! Easily the biggest waves we’ve had this year, and probably since October or November of last year.

Happy Friday everyone! Brian signing in for the weekend reporting. We had some beautiful weather out there today. Waves were in the 2-3 foot zone with nice offshores and clear skies. What a nice way to kick off the the weekend, eh?
The surf shop will be closed and no report will be posted Thursday June, 14 in observance of the National Strike called for by the Civic Alliance and in of support and memory of the brave Nicaraguan people who have put their lives on the line for a peaceful future, one in which the basic..
