Nicaragua Surf Report for Saturday, June 15, 2013

Aloha everyone, we've got the NSR family here with your Saturday surf report.  Tough conditions for day 7 at Playa Santana for the ISA World Junior surfing Championship.  We had some storm around and the waves were ok, even thought all the kids were putting on in a good show.  Chest high waves, winds a little weird, water was nice but we have to add a sick 6.6 earthquake around 11:37 am.  We also have to say that everything is good, nothing bad happened, thanks god.  Check it out!!!

Just one more day to go after today.  We had the last rounds of semis in all the divisions.  So tomorrow will be running only finals, and repecharge finals, plus the Aloha Cup, where Nicaragua is going to do the best to keep our country in the eye of surfing industry.  We got some crazy action out there for the girls, judging for the conditions we had.  Leilani Mcgonagle was the last hope for Costa Rica but she had her last heat today.  She did not make it but she was surfing good.

Tia Blanco from USA was killing it.  Making some huge turns in the 18's division and she is in the finals already.  Hitting it right in the pocket!

Kim Veteau from France was showing some sick performance today and made it to the finals as well in the 18's division.  Smacking a tough closed out section on her backside!

Working hard or hardly working?  Nice shoes fella!

Team USA has been fighting on every division but they did lose a couple of great surfers today.  Griffin Colapinto was one of them.

Elliot Ivarra from France with powerful turns like this made it to the finals in the 18's division.  He got the highest score of the day.

Hawaiian Kaoli Kahokuloa, one of the best surfers of this team got kicked out today.  He was surfing good but he gotta a really tough last heat in the 18's.

We had a very cloudy day, at some point we had some rain as well, making our day a little difficult for photos.  Anyway, we did our best and captured all the action.  American Jake Marshall had a great last heat and he succesfully got a place to be in the 16's finals.

Team USA so happy to have a couple guys into the finals.  Well done team USA, good luck tomorrow!

Josh Moniz from Hawaii is ready to battle for the gold medal tomorrow.  Good luck fella!

Jordi Marre the last surfer alive from Russia tried to get a place into the finals in the 18's division but he couldn't do it.  Nice snap to share for sure!

Reo Inaba from Japon busting tail out.  Stoked to be in the finals.

Did I say stoked?  He got number one in his last heat.

Alright boys, that's all for today.  As I said before team Nicaragua will be in the Aloha Cup, where 8 teams competed for the Gold Medal. Eight nations with five surfers each, will be split into two semifinals, with the top two teams in each heat advancing to the Final. Nicaragua will have Jackson Obando, Oscar Espinoza, Yubert Martinez, Kevin Cortez and Lourdes Lugo, but we still don't know which teams will be facing.  Make sure to be on the beach early so you won't miss any action.  Peace.
