As one our of good friends and long term boat captain Cesar says, “when the ocean has a lot of waves, it calms down for a few days.” No worries, good time to rest, relax, and take care of things outside of the water. Mid May to early June was epic and now we see some good stuff on the radar for next week.
Or, if you’re Johnny G, swap the TJ model for the log and get out there (or get out there on the nose).
Fueled by a fresh Jimmy Dean sausage egg and cheese biscuit, this guy always has a trick up his sleeve.
Hey Iguana community, when are we going to have another soft top competition? And, should we ban John so the rest of us have a fighting chance???
Hmmm waves are small… the age old question: check the surf and paddle out or take a nap in the shade? That’s a tough one today…
Gavin Doan, on the other hand, has been a busy man lately. Between brewing his own Iguana branded beer AND opening the brewery, he has been working hard. Looks like he’s going to burn off some of the beer into the lip.
Textbook! Too bad the waves weren’t triple the size…
But a couple perfectly groomed rollers did come through. Size is down but the fun factor is high!
I saw most of the waves coming in through the northern peak. Fun rights peeling down the line. As you saw in the first sequence above, some waves zipped through the more southern peak. We like when the period is lower and both peaks are working.
I want to give my friend Guto a shoutout. I met him and Andre inVilla A6exactly 4 years ago. Two super nice friendly baby boomers from Brazil (if that’s a term over there???). Anyways, they were really nice to me when I first arrived and they’re great people. Good to share a lineup with you again Guto!! Maybe we’ll share one in Florianopolis one day…
Ok damas and caballeros, time to cruise into the rest of Saturday. Let’s see… a little more work, another killer sunset, and maybe some volleyball? Sounds good to me! Hopefully see y’all out there!
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to March 1st’s surf report from French Fries. The waves were really fun in the late morning and early afternoon. The wind direction was perfect, but then flipped side-shore right as I went to grab my board haha.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Happy TGIF from Nica-land. Welcome to todays surf report. We’re back at it serving up some of the best surf shots from Latin America. Today was just another example of why this place is so well known for it’s waves. Take a look!
