Nicaragua Surf Report for Wednesday, June 19, 2024

Josh S

Hi everyone. Josh here for today (at least) bringing you the goods. We finally caught a good break from the wild wind and rain today. Colorados was fun most of the day, but especially in the afternoon.

Josh S

I took a few photos first thing in the morning when I went to check the conditions. There were a couple of makable barrels, but they were mostly thick and crazy double-ups like this one.

Josh S

Look who’s back?! Finley! Finley has a special place in the NSR archive because he hard carries so many surf reports. He spends so much of his time here surfing and he catches so many waves that he could often have his own personal report.

Josh S

These photos of Fin were in the afternoon between some other things I had going on. The waves were arguably the best around 3:00pm this afternoon as can be seen here.

Josh S

Finley fully capitalized on the smooth, clean faces by laying down max power on rail. Each year Finley’s surfing continues to evolve and progress. Having seen him just one or two years ago, you wouldn’t have expected Finley to progress as a power surfer.

Josh S

I kinda felt like this guy today haha. Bodysurf mode!

Josh S

Bring it around town Fin. Bring it ‘round town.

Josh S

This guy won the lottery this afternoon, but the outcome was a bit heartbreaking.

Josh S

He dropped into this 10 pointer, but couldn’t take the high-line. Tough, tough eh?

Josh S

I think a large portion of our summertime surfers were heavily discouraged by the rain and wind, so the lineup was thin today leaving some empty nuggets like this left.

Josh S

Kai held it down for us residents here this evening. After working hard all day he still had the fire in his belly to go pack some tubes. He is a greater man than I haha. I was sacked out by the end of the day.

Josh S

Kai, are the croissants at the new espacio Café the secret to your never ending energy? Kai gets to close today’s report with this blast here. Tomorrow should be fun if the wind is reasonable again. I’m hoping Tony can cover for me tomorrow as I’ve got a bit on the books tomorrow, but perhaps you’ll get another report from the “Typewriter”. Adios amigos.
