Nicaragua Surf Report for Monday, June 25, 2007

Welcome to the NSR Surf Report for Sunday. Today is the first day we are seeing the new swell in the water. It showed up a bit late and it's a little smaller than we all were anticipating but there were still some inconsistent sets coming in that were solid overhead. The extreme south angle combined with lots of storms made it a challenge to get a sesh today. After a frustrating afternoon, Kambute and I spent the last hour of daylight at Maderas and found some fun peaks all to ourselves.

Right before dark, the rain stopped, the ocean turned to glass and the sun came out for the first time. The beach was pretty empty except for the group of guys playing soccer.

The good waves were few and far between and left us wondering about this "big swell" and if it was ever going to show up. Waves like this were more common and gave the "pale riders" something to do.

Hi and welcome to the surf report for today, it's "Lucha Libre" here from somewhere in Nicaragua. It's not what we were hoping to have but is still fun out there. It's overhead on sets and the wind is strong offshore.

Here we have Manuel going left and Armando "El Codo" Lopez going right. Who said the right doesn't work?

Jairo "Come Pan" Garcia was charging out there today. Here he is on a nice set wave.

Meanwhile the guys were killing it out there, we were having a little bit of action on the beach.

And we had a couple of spectators too. By the way her name is Roberta and she is from Brazil, enjoy the show.

Later on, we had a second session and Zamir "El Peluchito" Duarte was out ripping it up. Hey buddy, where is your honey?

But Oliver "El Monito" Solis was the man today. He was on fire, here he is with a great maneuver.

Always we have the best waves with no takers. What a pitty!!

All right folks, that's all for today.
