Let’s start today’s surf report with a cool shot of Luis “La Baloy” Chamorro who was surfing very well today on his brand new board. He’s working hard everyday because he wants to win the next contest at Popoyo and to win the National Title in the Nicaraguan Surf Circuit.
But it is not going to be an easy task to be completed; meanwhile he has “La Bestia” Calderon competing at every contest to keep his National Title. Here is Sr. Rex with a nice floater.
There were a couple of cute ladies out there today catching some good waves. Here I caught this girl bottom turning on a nice looking left.
Today we want to give a special shout out to our friend Tom “El Viejo Pelon” Eberly who has been down here in Nicaragua for a long time working hard and supporting the local surfers in improving their surfing skills. He has been here for about fifteen years always supporting the local surfers with boards and surf gear. All the local guys feel super stoked and grateful to ride his boards. So, today there were many surfers out there and he wanted to be part of the crowd, so he made it out as well. By the way he loves GALLOPINTO.
Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro didn’t have too good of luck in the last two surf contests, but he’s been surfing really well and he is hungry for a win. Here he is with a cool snap on a fun wave
The waves got fat as soon as the tide got high, so it was perfect to take the long board out, ride a couple of good waves and have fun. This is an unknown rider hand dragging on a sweet right.
RECENT REPORTS
Merry Christmas everyone! Josh back behind the lens for the next few days. This evening’s surf report is coming your way from Panga Drops. Today definitely had its moments, but the windows were difficult to hit.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
It’s “Lucha Libre” here with the surf report for today. It’s running about head high to overhead on sets and the wind is offshore. Check out the lineup.
The swell is building out here at Maderas today. We’ve got some head high sets and the wind is offshore. Ordinarily, I’d call this “fun”, but today I just can’t do that.
Another day, more offshore winds and fun swell. We went out to Playa Colorado today and found some head high sets coming in…and 4 boat loads of people! The crowd was spread out enough, but come on guys, there are lots of other spots in Nicaragua – especially if you have a boat. Check out..
