Today we are going to start the surf report off with this shot of the long boarder bottom turning on a nice set wave. There was a lot of people in the water (30, which really isn’t that bad), but the waves were pretty consistent.
Normally you want to get a woman to apply your sunscreen, but when you can’t find one your best friend will do. Here we have two friends displaying the most intimate expression of surfing camaraderie.
This is Pedro “El Cacaste” Flores with a nice and strong front side snap. We are not sure if “El Cacaste” was training for the contest, but we know he is getting ready for happy hour tonight with the gringas at Pelican Eyes.
Juan “La Mosca” and Jorge “EL Chispero” were out there as well practicing hard, so they can take down Rex “La Bestia” in the Juniors division. If they can’t win using their skills, then they will just cut him off like this.
Augusto “La Gaviota” Chamorro was out there looking strong as ever practicing his vertical backside snaps. He told us that he was ready to give his brother a run for his money this weekend.
Yesterday we had a surf lesson with our friend John who is from New York City. He has been traveling through Nicaragua for the past month getting away from the big city life. Here he is cutting the line on his first day of lessons. John picked it up real quick and even caught some waves by himself.
Today we have a special shot out our boss Pancho Sanchez who is taming the deadliest snake in Nicaragua! We think that the snake was really intimidated by Panchos’ killer mustache. That’s all we got for today, the waves should jump up a little tomorrow. Check back!

Happy Tuesday and the final report of 2024. It was another fun day of waist to occasionally bigger surf at Playa Colorado. Warm water, light winds, and pretty empty line up. @tonyzphotos reporting.
