I will have to admit the photos make it look better than it really was out there, but then again Derek always seems to make even the worst of days of waves look super fun and worth the paddle out.
There’s no looking back once you pull the trigger to paddle out. Good thing for him…. here it’s like he’s looking back in time, in the surfers time traveling machine.
Sick backhand rooster spray on this one Mr. Unidentified Dood!
See, there was some juice. This thing actually spit pretty hard at the end too!
Wow, looks like the homie Colin’s been hitting up the local tattoo guy! Jaja – ya, I had to do a double take as well.
The winds were so all over the place, at some points in the day, you could find some good barrels, or some points in the day it was an aerialist’s dream out there. Jeynner booooosting BIG while the winds were in his favor.
The flyin’ Fin! Sick one little amigo!
Here’s one for good measure, literally. Just in case you were curious about the size today.
A little mystery barrel surfer cover up while the winds went back to the more favorable direction.
This little wahini was giving a little shred clinic on this last wave of the day. Starting off with a super proper bottom turn.
Followed by her first cutback, right in front of all everyone paddling back out.
Then one more with even more power and flare than the first one.
And then pumped her way all the way to the inside where she stuck this rad little air landing on practically dry sand. Nice wave little china!!!! Well, so that’s our Friday report. Hope you all had a great day today and ready for an even better weekend.
