This one is a better example of how was in reality. Nowhere to go.
I went to Popoyo, which it’s only 15 minutes away, and this is what I found… super clean, big and wide waves opening both ways.
Most of the waves there were big but slow, kinda soft, which made it great for wide cutbacks and roundhouses all the way.
But some of them wrapped better on the reef creating a steeper wall for more radical moves.
Perfect combination to leave a massive water curtain behind it.
There were a few people enjoying the show sitting at the restaurant in front of the break, everybody trying to get a video and/or photos of the action.
These two girls went by carrying their surfboards, probably heading to Battleship point, which is mellower than anything around here.
Even the guys surfing the main peak of Popoyo were paying more attention to Duckies.
This guy was throwing buckets in every turn, looked like so much fun!
Look at those beautiful lines stretching on the horizon. So much energy coming just for us to enjoy it!
There were many peaks around Beginners bay, lefts and rights all over the place, and just a few kids surfing there.
I’m going to say good-bye today with my friends Wilson and Jeff (and their families) who stayed with NSR for a week at Casa McVay and Casa Brown in Rosada beach, Rancho Santana. Great meeting you guys!If you are thinking about coming, check those houses, they are awesome!
RECENT REPORTS
Hey amigos! Welcome to Tuesday evening’s surf report from Colorados. The swell was bigger and stronger today, but it was very slow between the sets. I think the lack of a secondary swell combined with the sandbars not being in perfect shape made for long waits.
