Somewhere in Nicaragua
This is Lucha Libre here with the first day of the surf contest at Playa Santana. First thing in the morning the conditions were killer, shoulder high sets, nice offshore winds and fresh water. Right around noon a huge storm came, the winds turned on and there was quite a bit rain as well. Check it out!!!
The locals were commanding every single heat today, and here we have a cool shot of their man El Danino Martinez. Sweet backside snap on this left.
As I said the locals were leading the contest, except for the Chamorro’s heat and Rex’s, who at the end of the day got the best combined score. Rex going big with a solid front side 360 air.
Mostly all the heats were tight and everyone out there was battling to advance in every round. Junior and La Aguada with a double snap on this section!
Moncho, one of most improved local surfers during this contest was picking up some nice lefts and advanced into a few heats. Picking up a nice clean set!
Joel “El Capullo” Chavez was putting on his own show out there. To me, this could be the winner of this contest in the junior division if he keeps surfing like he did today. Styling on his bottom turn!
There was not much people around today, but there were definitily some cute girls here and there. Hola Musasa!!!
A few local gringos jumped in the water and did great in a few heats. Brian about to lay down a sick turn.
La Baloy Chamorro didn’t have any problem on his first heats and he is ready to kill it tomorrow. About to attack the lip of this nice looking left.
La Gaviota Chamorro did pretty good as well. He had the best second score of the day and he succesfully made it for tomorrow.
Some sweet sets came in and rolled in by themselves. What a beautiful wave, uh!
Jerson looks like he is practicing for the rodeo on this shot. Better stay on you board and ride some good ones if you want to stay alive buddy!
