Somewhere in Nicaragua

Lesther Espinoza snuck out for a quick lunch-break surf during his lifeguard duty today. He linked together a few good combos during his short time in the water.

Lesther has a really tight backside bottom turn which enables him to get vertical on pretty soft sections. The judges would’ve liked this wave!

Simone on one of the bigger rights I saw while shooting this morning. I like her line of sight here and that she coiled up in preparation for a strong extending drive up + across the face.

This wave had so much foam and froth that it seemed like a completely different break. This guy managed the white powder nicely, so perhaps he’s a snowboarder as well?

BAAMM! This guy blasted the back off of this right corner.

Lesther tagged out with Oscar for the dynamic duo mid-day shred fest. Oscar displaying text-book form on this opening frontside top-turn.

Then on the inside he twisted his whole bodyweight through this second carve. The Espinoza brothers definitely combo’d the competition in their respective heats today haha

Another right elbow jab from from a regular foot rider to get his fins to push through another solid top-turn.

No Sandos! Se perdio el tubo 🙁 Haha I’m giving him a hard time. We all have had a couple near misses like this during our time here. They haunt us the rest of the session haha

Britt Yoga was out and stroking into some nuggets today! That’s a good first step, the second step is to tuck in tight under the lip on these hollow yet relatively tame rights 🙂

This Saturday was another beautiful day in paradise! A good day to hit the beach for a tan, a stroll, some toñas, or some waves. Tomorrow Tony Z returns to the report, but the surf is forecasted to be a bit smaller. Be sure to pop back in to see if we get another surprise to the upside in terms of swell though!
