Happy early morning small crew, but sometimes it’s better to show up as incognito as you can to some surf spots.
I will say this much…. there were tons of turtles out in the ocean today. Andrea bout to jump off the boat over a giant Tortuga. haha
There were a few other people surfing here too. Not sure who this guy is, but he was doing some nice turns.
Other than our little crew and the other few that came by land, this break was was being absolutely dominated by the local kids.
For example, check out Vera Cruz local ripper Miguel “Angel” on this wave.
His buddy Josue was just as impressive with his knowledge of this spot.
One thing’s for sure here… the Nicaraguan surfing kids are blowing up these waves.
Erik (pictured) has actually competed in some of the best contest in the country.
It’s no wonder that these kids are so good. They have a pretty good mentor teaching them here. Unfortunately, Sean wasn’t out there today. I heard he’s currently in Puerto Rico.
Boat trips are always fun!! 9 out of 10 doctors recommend boat trips. the one Dr. who disagreed never learned to swim. I’d still go with the other 9 Docs!
Mi amiga, Andrea got to really see first hand today, up close, how much our offshores work around here.
We’ll just say, they’re great for many factors, the downside is you almost need windshield wiper goggles just so you can paddle into the waves sometimes.
No goggles needed to see the pure stoke on Andreas face today!
My other amigo and man of many skills, Bill, testing out his fairly new magic stick he just picked up not too long ago.
Looks like this thing is working well for you buddy!! How sick was that wave today hermano??
Yuppppp… I kinda had a feeling you would be super stoked I laid the hammer down on that wave for your entire sequence.
Lastly, Hector, another Vera Cruz local kid, showing off his bottom turn perfection at this skatepark of a wave.
You really can’t go wrong when your form is that pronounced coming out of bottom turn like that and then getting a nice backhand turn from all that beautiful style.
Ok my friends. Sorry my report isn’t longer today. It was an all day(er) out there today and I think Im about to go watch my eyelids until tomorrow. Sleep well and we’ll see you back here again mañana. Buenas noches ~
RECENT REPORTS
Hey everyone! Welcome to Wednesday’s surf report from Colorados. The waves were better by all measurable metrics today. It was still walled up and slow, but there were definitely some 10 pointers to be had.
FROM THE ARCHIVES
Happy Saturday everyone!! So today I decided to head out and catch some action via the ol’ water house. Waves are still in the small department, but the water clarity, wind and overall conditions for perfect weather were about as good as it gets out there.
