Somewhere in Nicaragua
Yo! Que paso todos! Today is Friday and this is Lucha Libre and Eric comin’ at ya with the days surf report. Today is the first day of the International Latino Americano competicion in playa Santana. Lucha and I had some work to do down south today so we didn’t get to catch any surf action from the contest today. Tomorrow we will have full coverage though. On the way there we had a big a rainstorm and Lucha almost hit a horse in “The Mule”, the police car in this photo whipped around and pulled us over because Lucha almost killed us and el caballo! Just kidding , hu, hu, huuuuuuuuuu, Lucha is a good driver.
On the way to the contest we stopped in a local village to snap a couple of photos of some guys doing some skate board in the middle of dirt roard with no shoes on. This is The Little Moskito with a sweet maneuver!
When we first got to the beach this is what we found. Big mushy waves with onshore winds. Normally this is one of the sickest hollow waves of this area but unfortunately the winds were on today and it was all mixed up.
We had a sweet set up for this contest and you can see it on this shot. It is the first time we host this kinda contest down here in Nicaragua and we are happy to be part of this event. Here is a shot of the scene we had on the beach!
One of the best rums in the world, Flor de Cana is a sponsor in this contest. Here are two of their models posing for a shot. These girls were getting a lot of attention from the locals today. Hey Chulin, i guess you would married any of them if you could!!!
This is the first time we have “El Parasito” watching one of this big contest and he was pretty excited to go out with the water camera but it didn’t happen today because we were too late. He’s getting ready for tomorrow, but i think he is not gonna make it because he was looking for some girls this afternoon, so that means he is going to be busy until late tonight!!!
Everyone here is going to be having a good time… We’ve got great surfers in the water, super pretty girls on the beach, and enough cold cervezas to quench the thirst of an Irish bar. But…. Don’t get too crazy or you’ll be answering to these guys! La policia keeping everybody in line!
The San Juan del Sur guys weren’t succesful today, they got beat in the second round and only one guy from San Juan del Sur made it into the third round for tomorrow “La Bestia”. Here they are waiting for the meal of the day at Yolanda’s Cafe!!!
Mario “El Danino” was the only nica guy from Limon-Santana that made it to the third round tomorrow. Here is so proud to wear the NSR new jersey. Nice hair dude!!!
We guess until tomorrow we’ll be like these guys “Living la vida loca” because there are not many waves right now. Hopefully the winds will be back offshore tomorrow and we’ll be able to catch some sweet shots. Stay tuned with us, cheers everyone!!!

Hey everyone! Welcome to Saturday’s surf report from Playa Colorado. There was a window early today and right at sunset. At mid-day when I took pictures the wind kicked up making for better turn sections than tubes. Still a few if you knew where to look.
