Somewhere in Nicaragua
Happy Sunday guys and gals! Today we had a lot of visitors and beachgoers spaciously enjoying one of Nicaragua’s best assets, but the best thing about today was the new swell that arrived. Come on in and check out the goods!
Well, if it doesn’t seem like forever since we’ve seen anything like this for some time now. John Gillem well in over his head, but not really, but really!
There was a little bit of a wait for those really nice bigger sets, but all the in-betweeners were pretty scrumptious.

I had just missed Lesther and Oscar getting out when I arrived, but here’s Jason who rips as well as the two brothers. But everyone is so happy to see the hermano’s back after being held up in Guatemala for over 5 months.
Super sick style with impeccable flair…. but I have to say…. them boardies are pretty RAD dude!
I will have to admit. The crowd was pretty thick out there today…. more people than the norm.
But that’s ALWAYS the case when we have a run of smaller surf and everyone get’s super frothed out when the first new swell arrives.
There were hardly any rights out there today (for the most part) as this swell was providing a lot of lefts. Here’s one of those rare rights.
And here’s one of those hefty lefts Chris M is perfectly slotted in.
Just another beach day here… but not really. Honestly haven’t seen this many people at this stretch of beach like this here for a long time, up until today.
“Praise Jesus”…. “Hallelujah”…. I’m sure whatever Derek’s singing to the heavens……
100% has something to do with this!
The consistency of waves was pretty incredible actually, considering the people to wave radio out there. I don’t think I saw anyone waiting for a wave longer than anything under a minute. Cesar wrapping his third turn on his umppph-something wave of the day.
Smiles for miles and miles of lefts we have here in the beautiful land of Nica…. or aka Nica-Land, as we like to call it!
What you can’t see in the last photo and into this photo is Carlos burning his wife Rutci on this exact same wave. But that’s ok…. those who ride together, share together everything! It’s a surfing spousal thing. I’m sure Rutci will hold Carlos down and give him a nuggie later on!!!! jajaja
Tony Z wasn’t having anything about the ol’ “One and Done” surf sesh today. He was out there for a while. But then again, look at how nice the new swell is. Gotta get it while it’s good!
Mystery barrel surfers a plenty today. I’ll give you a hint… this one is from the big city in Managua! Ya Chapito!!!!
D-man’s been getting some sick edits done on the photos I’ve been catching of him. As that blistering hot sun melted away today into the Pacific ocean… it’s almost like you could hear the hiss….. or just a kiss of fire to the cool Latin tropical lips of the oceans waves! haha, wow, I’m a poet and I didn’t know it!!! Saludos ~
