I sat it out, waiting patiently to see if this swell would arrive this afternoon (to take some sick shots) and I waited and waited.

Naturally, natures karma won today; since I waited, she brought with her some super dark skies and some nice long rains.

But it sure didn’t stop these few to ride it out in the rains.

I always know when Mike’s back in town. All I need to see peeking through my lens is a Big Rusty Logo, and some Big Maneuvers, like this one here!

Despite the unruly conditions, it was pretty nice out there (not speaking for the light of course), but I’m a glass half full kind of guy.

Annnnnd then it started to pour! I always speak too soon… haha!

Always good to see my good friend RAT down for a visit. Go RAT!!!

The velvety texture on the water from the rain was actually pretty cool looking.

It was just the other day (I believe) in one of my other reports I was saying how much fun it can actually be here to surf in the rain… take note!

The conditions can actually get better (sometimes) helping to clean up any kind of low pressure system bringing us said rains.

Crystal blue persuasion meets…

I’m dancing in the rain. Hey speaking of dancing, check out how vertical this guy is popping out of the water…

Now check out how far this guy is popping out of the water! Ya, that’s a whale! Pretty amazing to see just outside of our local lineup, to say the least. Whales RULE!!!!!

Phillip agrees 100% with whales and buttery lefts after a nice rain.

I think some people saw all the whale activity out the back and got inspired to do similar playful activities.

Ahhh life is good here in Nica-Land, rain OR shine!

See, the real beauty of surfing after a good rain here, is the glassy conditions that come with it. That is when the real magic happens.

So perhaps my waiting today for more swell wasn’t completely waisted after all?!?

Who’s ready for some Juicy new swell mañana??? THIS GUY!!!So as you can see, we didn’t exactly get all that swell we were anxiously anticipating today; we did however have some little frontrunners coming in just as I was packing it up. So there’s still some good potential / curiosity as to how tomorrow morning’s going to play out… so you know what that means. Check back in again tomorrow and see what Mother Nature (hopefully) will be hooking us up with en la mañana. Chao for now!
