Walk 15 steps from the house to the beach and take a look to the south and this what you will see!
And before we get going on today’s surf report, we wanted to put up a couple of bonus shots from yesterday. While the contest was going on down in SJDS, the waves were still FIRING at the Outer Reef. Here’s a line-up shot to prove it! These shots are courtesy of our good friend Jan Glenn at Casa Ensueno (thanks Jan).
This is Oliver Solis, who always seeks out the biggest waves. Oliver was charging today and nailed some nice ones.
What’s up folks? It is Lucha Libre here checking in with our Monday surf report. Today I drove a little north to meet a nice crew that hired me for a couple of days to snap a couple shots. The conditions were pretty rough but there were still some fun waves rolling in. Well over head sets, switching winds and warm water all day. Uh, look forward to see the extra bonus we have for today’s report. Check out the lineup!!!
To start the day we have Rafael working on his backside on this nice looking left. Trying to get more speed!
There were some nice rights coming in but these guys preferred to go left, almost all the time. Tiago dropping in on a nice sized wave.
Angel going big with a cool little floater on this right. He’s got to score some nice ones today.
We are going to finish with this crew with this buddy, racing this one down the line with nice form. I’ll be hanging out with this crew for the next few days so we’ll keep posting some shots of them.
As I said before there were some well over head waves rolling in, and this is the last wave this guy rode on that board. Better go straight, if you think that you are not going to make buddy because if you leave your board in front of that lip,,,,,, IT”S GONE!!!
A few rippers were out there, getting shacked and destroying every single wave they caught. Check out this one standing up on this one.
Did I say destroying waves? Matt Wilkeson from Australia blasting fins out for my camera.
Andrew, the 18 year old pro surfer, showing us how to slide the tail on a sweet frontside turn. Danmmmmmm!!!
We had 4 broken boards during the morning sesh. Check out Mr Castor walking away on the beach, meanwhile in the background that guy get ready to go all the way down and up.
The last shot of the day goes to this unknown folk working on his tube ride. Pretty good, uh.
Now it is time for the BIG BONUS. Last Saturday, just 2 days ago Outer reef was showing us its world class prospective. We went through our archives from Saturday and want to throw a couple of killer shots in.
Joseph Jonathan Yema knows this spot better than anybody. He knows where to drop, where to get barreled and where to do a sick bottom turn.
Pancho Sanchez has surfed this spot a couple of times, he probably doesn’t know it as well but he can surf some beasty ones. Are you ready to say OH MY GOD one more time?
Mason Ho from Hawaii charged some of the bigger ones on his backside. How big do you think this wave is on a 5’11?
Carlitos Caliente paddled some nice sized monster sets and here we have this shot as a proof. Everybody out there was out of control, so the waves!
If you happened to check our report out from Saturday, you might remember this dude making a huge drop. Check him out air dropping this one.
This is the last shot we are going to post today. Did you guys like the bonus? This was Lucha Libre and I hope you guys have a good one! Matt Wilkenson in the last one!!! Thanks so much to our friends from Surfari Charters for hooking us up!!!
