Nicaragua Surf Report for Friday, August 23, 2024

Josh S

Hey amigos. Welcome to Friday’s surf report from Colorados. The waves were a bit smaller this morning, but I think the size started to pick up some in the evening. It was really clean this AM though.

There were a few little nuggets and pipes out there, but the waves were running fast. Life behind and outside the section seemed to be the trend for most of the surfers this morning.

When it gets small like this you always want to look for the craziest and thickest double-ups you can find. Those are the waves that will open the widest and offer the most tube potential.

Boogey in the barrel!

Dani Cruche won the heat this morning. This is only one frame from the sequence, but he made a fairly deep, multi-section tube.

John paddled out for a little bit and tried his best to snag a few decent rides. It was pretty slow and small out there. He used some creativity here looking for a quick sliding 360.

The lefts were dominating the lineup again today, and luckily John managed to find a bit more opportunity to work with here.

Josh S

Wham! A big end-section smack to get some payback on these small waves!

Josh S

Some lazer precise Jedi form from an unknown visitor. He pushed just the right amount on his rail through this turn. Just enough and not too much.

Could you have squeezed into this one? I don’t know if I could’ve haha! That wraps up today’s action, but if Surfline is correct then we should get a bump in the size tomorrow.
